HIDDEN EMBER is a fast-paced, action-packed book that provides a satisfying ending to a trilogy I became very invested in. I never fully knew what to expect, the fight scenes made my heart race, and the heat between Vala and Xayvn was the perfect temperature for me. Well done, J. M. Miller and (Amelia Hugh).

I loved FALLEN FLAME, but I loved SCATTERED PLUME even more! Valla has agency, there’s a lot going on, the mystery begins to be solved, and there are dragons. The fight scene is fantastic and I love the groupings of beings working together for the greater good.

The opening scene in FALLEN FLAME hooked me immediately. I became instantly invested, and as the story went on, I truly grew to care about several of the characters and the mystery surrounding them. The writing is beautiful and descriptive, everything I could want from a fantasy while keeping things fast-paced. The narrator (Amelia Hugh) did an incredible job as well, and her voice paired with J.M. Miller’s writing is a match made in heaven.

I thought A THOUSAND YEARS TO WAIT was such a cool read. I was immediately interested in the story and main character, there was a lot of action, it was super creative, and the lead embraced STRENGTH. The romance was also a nice addition to the story, and I loved how surprised I was by a few things.

This book was really enjoyable as far as the writing goes. It's sweet with some steam. But I struggled a lot with the narrator. Nothing personal against the narrator, who I believe is also the author, but the voice just didn't fit the story. It was difficult for me to get list in the world of A Swan's Sweet Song because the voice didn't match any of the characters, setting, passion, etc. I would read this author again.

I enjoyed listening to this book, but I think it would have been better if a female narrated it. The narrator's authentic-sounding accent was best when he spoke the male dialogue, but it also seemed as though he was focused on enunciation more than performance. I felt like I was being read a story rather than being immersed in to another world. The story was interesting, different, a quick read, and I'd like to read a full-length book by this author.
