I Butterflying Love It!
Revisado: 11-26-12
I butterflying love Point of Retreat! If I could, I would bottle up the goodness of this book and pour it on my own life. I can’t even tell you how MUCH I love Will and Lake. Their love is the kind my dreams are made of.
My heart nearly broke in two for Lake in Slammed, and now the same can be said of Will in Point of Retreat. These two are no strangers when it comes to tragedy, yet they both remain strong through whatever life throws at them. They were both forced to grow up way too fast and take responsibility for their younger brothers. Their little family may not be traditional, but they’re happy, and they love each other’s guts. And that is definitely a sweet.
The way Will thinks about Lake, the way he talks to her, and really, just the perfect way he loves her, had me melting AND crying. I was so happy to get to read from his point of view this time.
I love this book. “Say it again.” I. Love. This. Book.
From here on out, I will read anything Colleen Hoover writes and you should too. Her writing style is fantastic and her characters will become a part of you. For me, Will, Lake, Caulder, Kel, Eddie, Gavin, Keirsten, and Sherry really exist somewhere and I hope they’re all butterflying happy.

My Heart is Overflowing with Emotion.
Revisado: 11-26-12
My heart is overflowing with so many emotions. OVERFLOWING, I tell you. On the Island is one incredible book! I wasn’t just reading it, I was living and breathing it. Thanks to Tracey Garvis-Graves’ amazing writing, I know Anna and T.J. I could feel their pain, loss, and joy right along with them. Tracey tells it like it is. She doesn’t idealize basic human needs. You’re stranded on an uninhabited island. If you drink bad water, you get sick. If you don’t shower, you smell. Plain and simple.
I LOVED that we get to experience everything from both Anna’s and T.J.’s POV. Despite everything they go through (which is A LOT), they remain strong and rely on one another. Over time, their relationship blooms beautifully. Facing the impossible doesn’t seem quite as bad when you’re not alone.
I can’t say enough good things about this book that will do it justice. You just need to read it for yourself. I know I will definitely read it (and listen to it) again and again.

Love it, love it!
Revisado: 11-26-12
I am so overwhelmed with emotions. Easy is not only a great book that completely sucked me in, it contains a message that needs to be read by women everywhere. Loss, fear, betrayal, discovery, and love dominate in Easy. I am 100% glad that I read it.
The story starts out intensely, and I mean INTENSELY. I wanted to cover my eyes and cower away because it was just so REAL. The characters all feel like actual people. As the reader, I was able to experience life with them—from the mundane, to the exciting, to the terrifying moments.
Jacqueline is thrown for a loop after Kennedy, her boyfriend of three years, breaks her heart. Mending a broken heart isn’t exactly easy for her because most of her friends have ditched her and she still has a class with the ex. After missing two weeks of said class, she’s fallen behind and is referred to the class tutor, Landon, a guy she’s never met. After exchanging many emails with Landon, she starts to believe that there might be something more to their “relationship.”
Then there’s Lucas, a guy she met on a night she would rather forget. As luck would have it, oh-so-drool-worthy Lucas is in the same class with her and the ex. This just keeps getting better and better. Lucas is mysterious and SEXY, and quite possibly what Jacqueline needs to get over Kennedy. Little by little they get to know each other… this is where you insert SQUEE’s and fanning, lots and lots of fanning.
Love, Love, LOVE this!
"The way he kissed me felt like a brand. Like he was tattooing himself under my skin."
Secrets have a funny way of coming out when you really wish they would dissolve forever. But that’s where honesty can begin which allows you to move forward.
I cringed, I cried, I smiled, I swooned, and I cheered. READ THIS BOOK!

Historia
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid.

An Automatic FAVORITE.
Revisado: 10-01-12
I’m so in love with Beautiful Disaster!!! Ahhhhh, I can’t even. This book is SO GOOD. I was clutching this story to my heart and I refused to let it go. This is definitely a new favorite.
I love Travis and Abby. Their relationship is complicated, for sure, but it works. Each of them has a past that they’re running from and hoping to forget. I hurt for them and with them. The emotions in this story are raw and intense and I felt like I was experiencing everything right along with them. I couldn’t catch my breath near the end, plus, I was yelling at the space around me. I was in a panic. My heart is still beating hard.
And can I say how freaking ADORABLE it is that Travis calls Abby Pigeon/Pidge?! Never in a million years would I think that I’d completely swoon over something like that, but I totally did, and I still am. I was so wrapped up in their amazing romance. I didn’t want it to end! Read it and/or listen to it and fall in love with them, too. This is definitely a book that I will read and listen to over and over again.
Emma Galvin does an amazing job. She is able to capture Abby and Travis perfectly. Well done.

Historia
Since she’d been on the outside, she’d survived an Aether storm, she’d had a knife held to her throat, and she’d seen men murdered. This was worse. Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland - known as The Death Shop - are slim. If the cannibals don’t get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She’s been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild - a savage - and her only hope of staying alive.

LOVE IT!
Revisado: 09-27-12
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Under the Never Sky! This story grabbed me and did not let go. First off, the storyline itself is beyond impressive, but the writing, oh it blew me away. Veronica Rossi describes smells, sounds, and emotions so explicitly. I admit it took me a few chapters before I was able to grasp onto the flow of the story. It’s different.
Aria is a Dweller. She lives in pod with her people, sheltered from the outside. They live in a virtual world where they can experience endless possibilities…except the real. Aria’s mother is away and she hasn’t heard from her. She’s more than a little worried, which leads to putting herself in a dangerous situation to get information. Then disaster strikes and her world is turned upside down.
Perry is an Outsider. He lives in a treacherous world where you must fight to stay alive. There are many threats, but the most dangerous is the unpredictable sky and cannibals. Yeah, I said cannibals. Through a twist of events, Perry and Aria, are forced to become allies.
We get a deeper understanding of these complex characters through each of their perspectives. The end left me breathless and aching for Through the Ever Night. This is a beautiful story and I encourage you to read/listen to it if you haven’t already.

Historia
New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20s. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy. When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters—or Freaks—who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings.

Exciting!
Revisado: 09-27-12
ENCLAVE is fantastic. It was like a movie in my mind. For being a relatively short book, it covers A LOT and the journey is incredibly exciting. Deuce has worked her whole life to be a Huntress. It’s all she’s ever wanted. She’s brave and strong for a New Blood. She lives by the rules. Then she gets partnered with Fade (how cool is his name?!). He’s not like everyone else and Deuce isn’t sure how to deal with him. He makes her second guess everything she’s ever been taught and awakens a new understanding within her.
I’m completely impressed with Ann Aguirre’s imagination and ability to create post-apocalyptic magic. I was enthralled by the story and attached to the characters. I’m rooting for them in every way.

Historia
Layken Cohen isn't your typical 18-year-old. After the recent death of her father, she is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's slowly losing hope. Enter Will Cooper: The 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for performing "Slams". Will and Layken immediately form an intense and emotional connection neither of them knew they needed until it was found.

AMAZING. I LOVED it, so MUCH.
Revisado: 09-26-12
Slammed is an absolute treasure. I love this book! READ it, LISTEN to it, LOVE it, too.
Lake is still grieving over the loss of her dad, and now she’s being forced to leave her home in Texas to move to Michigan. She is clearly not happy about this. When Lake, her mom, and her little brother, Kel, arrive at their new home, they meet their new neighbors. Meeting Will suddenly makes the move across the country feel a whole lot better.
Lake and Will are drawn to each other from the very beginning. Their instant connection is sweet and consuming. They go on an incredible date and Lake is taken aback at how different Will is from other guys. Their feelings for one another grow quickly and they each seem to fill a void in the other. However, they soon discover a major obstacle that forces them apart. But how far apart can they really get when their little brothers have become best friends and they live across the street from each other?
Life and death, love and loss, laughter and tears…there’s a plethora of emotion in every chapter. (I was bawling at one point. Get your tissue ready.) The poetry is beautiful and inspiring and the advice is priceless. Slammed is definitely a MUST READ (listen), and reread (listen, again), because we all need to learn how to stop "carving pumpkins" at some point.
This is by far one of my all time favorites. Colleen Hoover is an incredible writer and Heidi Baker does a wonderful job of giving Lake her voice.

Loved it! So addicting!
Revisado: 06-08-12
Admittedly it was a little hard for me to understand what was going on during the first few chapters, but after that I was hooked. Everything comes together perfectly. This is one creative and incredible book. I adore these characters and I was completely torn between all of them. I loved the conversations between Wanderer and Melanie. Talk about polar opposites! Where Wanda is kind and gentle, Mel is angry and ready for violence. The Host has sweet romance, intense action, and heart wrenching loss. I absolutely love it in any form (book or audiobook).
