Historia
Joan Sample is not living the life she expected. Now a widow and an empty-nester, she has become by her own admission something of a recluse. But after another birthday spent alone, she is finally inclined to listen to her sister, who has been begging Joan to reengage with the world. With Emmie’s support, Joan gathers the courage to take some long-awaited steps: hiring someone to tame her overgrown garden, joining a grief support group, and even renting out a room to a local college student. Before long Joan is starting to feel a little like herself again.

Great story that kept me interested throughout. The ending was surprising. I thought I had the story figured out but I was wrong! The story was well written and well narrated too.

Another great story by Nicholas Sparks
Revisado: 11-07-24
I’m a big fan of Nicholas Sparks and I was not disappointed by this story. As always, I was drawn in to the plot quickly and it held my interest throughout the story. The only drawback was the narrator who often seemed almost drunk when his words sounded like they slurred together. I found that quite annoying and I considered ending my listening multiple times yet I continued on until the end. I will note the narrator’s name and avoid books that he has narrated in the future.

I very much enjoyed listening to the many encounters people had with the afterlife. I was a believer in life after death before this book but learned that there are different types of encounters. I highly recommend this book.

Sweet romance
Revisado: 09-05-23
The story was entertaining and I enjoyed listening to it. I especially like the fact that there were no vulgar words or inappropriate sex scenes. Thanks for that because it’s hard to find a good story that’s clean. I would have chose a different narrator though. I felt like the narrator was too focused on enunciation and therefore sounded like a robot. It just wasn’t natural.

Revisado: 07-16-23
The author is brilliant in creating the story but for me it is the narration that brings the story to life. Such talent! I read some reviews that were very low in rating and for me they don’t mean squat. I thoroughly enjoyed both books one and two in this series and look forward to a third.
