Historia
Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

So clean and fresh! It’s so nice to listen to a positive story that’s still interesting. The performance was fantastic. Truly truly enjoyable!

Realistic & practical

I read a lot of books in this genre and this book was one of the most realistic I have read. Full of good prepping advice. Thank you.

Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. I remember!
Revisado: 04-12-24
This book was so well written and realistic. It was powerful and personal. It made me remember the war and how it affected the boys of my youth. I recall the draft numbers received by my classmates, the funeral of a 19 year old soldier, the letters I read from the frontline of the Vietnam war and the war stories told by college mates.
Most of all I remember the night I spent in the Presidio with nurses returning from Vietnam. I heard their stories first hand and they even showed me their rashes they called jungle rot. I was so innocent and naive to what they all went through. I knew the war was wrong, but I always felt that those young men and women were not the ones to blame. They were for most part victims. I was so glad to visit the wall and see them finally honored.
Thank you for capturing the complexity of the war and this nurse’s role in it. There was such a healing message in her story. Excellent book and I highly recommend it!

Historia
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, he discovers that Quine's disappearance is no coincidence. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published, it would ruin lives - meaning that almost everyone in his life would have motives to silence him.

Repulsive
Revisado: 02-28-23
I have never written a review before, but want to warn others. I enjoyed the first book in this series very much and was hooked on the main characters. I am literally nauseated by Silkworm. It’s extremely dehumanizing and a piece of garbage. What a waste of time. I can’t take anymore. Stopping at Chapter 19.
