I held off on reading this because the synopsis sounded like many others. But it definitely kept me guessing. A fast pace beginning to end.
The narrator was good but her voice for the character of Tom was a bit distracting, not totally 'convincing'.

This author is incredible at taking a character so inherently flawed, deranged and capable of justifying every wrong act--from the minor to the major-- he commits & drawing you in with each page. It is a finer tuned Salinger, a less-tedious Bret Easton Ellis. You'll laugh at parts, shake your head at others, and wonder what be will or won't get out of. And how. It's compelling and truly makes you understand the other angles of crimes you hear about on tv; the ones that seem to insane or misguided to be true.
A true knockout of a writer. I'm already awaiting her next one.

This is the first book of hers I've read, and I'm glad I picked it. Wow. The writing is superb, and the characters well-fluffed out from a couple different points of view. I found myself re-reading a few chapters to make sure I was on the right track of the story. It's very smart, page by page. I was slightly disappointed by not knowing the ending of one character. But it was minor compared to the rest of this awesome and super-psyche-shifting thriller.

The narrator either wasn't the right pick voice wise or she simply read too slow. But I could not get into it. I even tried fast forwarding it a little bit, that just skipped over alot of words. The main character seemed whiny and boring. Don't waste your time.

I wondered for the first half what this wss gona be. Then I thought I knew. And I turned out to be wrong. But it wasn't satisfying to me. Not enough a twist, or just maybe the way the twist was weaved. Just disappointing.

Disappointing, Scattered, Pass This Up

I saw such great reviews but found myself relegating it to my wish list repeatedly. Now I know why.
The narration, first of all, wasn't bad except the guy did not give nearly enough inflection for the barrage of characters---for such an arsenal one needs to be able to vacillate with intonation in order to keep the reader from staying somewhat confused.... And he didn't succeed.
Although the plot and subplot were involved enough to keep me somewhat interested to hear the end, there was simply too much jumping around, and the tied up ends seemed forcefully intwined. I only finished it cuz I got it for free and hoped maybe the slow start would wind its way up. Hated I wasted my time.
