I've read the first 3 books and if they end it in a Trilogy it will be fitting, really great. I am looking forward to the next one but honestly have no idea how they can top this book. I loved it

Ready for Book 2!

Good read, unique theme and diverse characters. I do wish they wouldn't have skipped over the months after the apocalyptic event and let us experience it with the characters. The inner dialog from the narrator gave us so much of the information rather than it being discovered throughout the story. Now that the lead has come into her own... I'm ready for some badass-ness in book 2 from her

Finally

I've been making my way through the witchy/ magical/fantasy books that audible has to offer and this one stood out in a great way. Finally, a series with adult concepts, language and themes. Usually these stories are from the POV of a virgin teenage girl and it's boring to read as an adult. HMRC is a great read from the way it's written to the humor and the content. I'm ready for book 2

Good story

I liked the storyline and general themes in the book. The Greek Mythology and magic was a welcomed change from the usual witch stories. However, much of the story came from inner dialog from one character or just being told things outright. It became repetitive and by the 4th book I was over it. I did like the overall story but I'm not a fan of the way it's written.

Good continuation of the story but.....

This is going to be my last book of the series. It really feels like a money grab by having so many books for the same cost as books twice as long. The dialog between the main character and her sidekicks is getting boring. These "kids" are saving the world and there is barely any character development....especially from the heroine. Weird how she's such a prude now. The writers should have taken a page from Stephanie Myers on how to keep a thrupple interesting. If they'd made these 15 books into 3 volumes I'd keep reading bit there's not enough story to justify the cost anymore.

I like the story but......

I read these books as they were being released and still enjoy the world and storyline. However, as an adult I'm underwhelmed by the time line. Everything that's happened over these 5 books has taken place in a 2 month time frame. It's rushed and there really isn't enough character development. The heros are getting whiny and repetitive. Honestly, it's feeling like a money grab. The first 5 books could have/should have been Book 1. I didn't finish the series before because of the expense and as it is... book 6 will be my last.

I read this series years ago and enjoyed it. I decided to restart it on Audible. The narration is good and you can distinguish between each character. I did increase the speed a little because it was a tad slow. I'm ready for the next one!

Could have been great

The premise is the story and the themes involved were intriguing but the execution of it was meh. The whole story reads like an outline and you're talked at but you don't really experience it. There isn't any events or real dialog that precipitated the character development... all of a sudden (overnight) they've had a change of heart or fell in love. These kings are rapey AF and just make a plan to "seduce" this girl so she can't pick other kings. They're like "once we stick our c*cks in her she'll fall in love with us and that's that" And it was. She fell in love and they got what they wanted. But the reader didn't get to experience the fight scene, the sex or anything really. It's just a repetitive outline. If it had meat this would have been a great story.
