Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Great characters and story

Love this book, I’ll read more of Carrs works. Based on our corrupt businessmen and politicians I expect this story is plausible.

Historia
In this rousing conclusion to The Saga of Roland Inness, King Richard has called up Roland and the legendary Invalid Company to serve in his grinding war against King Philip of France. It's a conflict where brutal mercenaries ravage the land and take no prisoners and where a king's favour is for sale. As Roland leads the Invalid Company into harm's way, his old enemy buys his way out of exile and threatens all that Roland holds dear back in England. Can Roland and the Invalids survive the war in France with their reputations intact? It's a question of honour!

Great characters

As always this series is good with some great characters. I did find the plot implausible in a few places and thought the ending could have been more satisfying.

Good story
Revisado: 03-08-25
I found the story interesting and well written. It came off as being plausible with only a couple of things that seemed a stretch. The narration was quite weak, however, with any accent other than male English sounding at times ridiculous.
If this had been read by someone like Marston York I think it would have been better.

Historia
The tale begins in Dark Age Britain, a land where Arthur has been banished and Merlin has disappeared, where a child-king sits unprotected on the throne, where religion vies with magic for the souls of the people. It is to this desperate land that Arthur returns, a man at once utterly human and truly heroic: a man of honor, loyalty, and amazing valor; a man who loves Guinevere more passionately than he should; a man whose life is at once tragic and triumphant.

Historia
England, AD 1266. The kingdom lies in ruins after years of bitter civil war. Simon de Montfort is dead, slaughtered in battle, and his surviving followers fight on with the fury of despair. Known as the Disinherited, these landless men infest the forests and highways and prey on the common folk. Hugh Longsword, a common soldier, fights for the King against the rebels who threaten to destroy England. He is taken into the service of the Lord Edward, King Henry’s eldest son, and made to work as a spy. Edward sends him into the wild north country, home to the most dangerous rebel captains: men such as Sir John d’Eyvill and his savage cousin Nicholas, known as the Beast for his cruelty.
