Historia
In late March 1944, as Stalin’s forces push into Ukraine, young Emil and Adeline Martel must make a terrible decision: Do they wait for the Soviet bear’s intrusion and risk being sent to Siberia? Or do they reluctantly follow the wolves - murderous Nazi officers who have pledged to protect “pure-blood” Germans? The Martels are one of many families of German heritage whose ancestors have farmed in Ukraine for more than a century.

Best Book I have ever read
Revisado: 11-20-22
One of the best books I have ever read. I especially liked that they had very few curse/vulgar words and made its point loud and clear.

Historia
The final novel from a great American storyteller. Donal Cameron is being raised by his grandmother, the cook at the legendary Double W ranch in Ivan Doig's beloved Two Medicine Country of the Montana Rockies, a landscape that gives full rein to an 11-year-old's imagination. But when Gram has to have surgery for "female trouble" in the summer of 1951, all she can think to do is to ship Donal off to her sister in faraway Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Too much profanity
Revisado: 11-08-22
The story was good and would have been much better without all the profanity. Why does an author believe they have to use that language?

Historia
Raised as an orphan by her aunt, Chariline has only been told a few pieces of her parents’ tragic love story. Her beautiful dark skin is proof that her father was Cushite, but she knows nothing else. While visiting her grandfather before his retirement as the Roman official in the queen’s court, Chariline overhears that her father is still alive, and discovering his identity becomes her obsession. Both her grandfather and the queen have reasons for keeping this secret, however, and forbid her quest. So Chariline sneaks on the ship of a merchant trusted by friends.

Like nails on a chalkboard
Revisado: 08-23-22
I loved the story and everything else except the screeching of the female characters. Please don’t use those again. The narrator using her feminine voice would have been so much better. The screeching was almost too much.

Woke propaganda & vulgar
Revisado: 08-14-22
Too much vulgarity for my tastes. I wish it was a requirement in the description that the author is pushing the gay/lesbian agenda. I won’t buy a book by this author again. I was not able to return it as I had it in my library for a while.

I’m giving it one star, only because I have to give it something. I believe I listened to less than five minutes and I believe almost every cuss word known was used.

Is she real or not?
Revisado: 01-08-20
Enjoyed listening to this wonderful story. Kept me guessing is she, was she teal or not? The vivid details made me see what the author was describing. Personally, the Lord’s name taken in vain did not have to be there. It would have made the book much more enjoyable.

Thank you for sharing your struggles and your triumphs and educating the seeing eye world with the rules of not petting a working animal and the awesome love you have for them and they towards you.
