Historia
Organized as a travel guide for the time-hopping tourist, The Time-Traveler's Guide to Elizabethan England is an entertaining popular history with a twist. Historian Ian Mortimer reveals in delightful (and occasionally disturbing) detail how the streets and homes of 16th century looked, sounded, and smelled for both peasants and for royals; what people wore and ate; how they were punished for crimes and treated for diseases; and the complex and contradictory Elizabethan attitudes toward violence, class, sex, and religion.

can begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this. I played dungeons and dragons, and this book is great for helping One world build for a fantasy setting. I really enjoy how it dives into the day-to-day lives of average people, and we would consider silly laws that affected them and major outcomes of their lives. recommend this book to anyone world building for d&d, or who just really enjoy history.

Good study of the book
Revisado: 08-10-24
I thought the professor did a good job about the study of the book. It was informational to learn that the Islam religion and the Quran are very different things. Overall this wasn't a bad listen, it just wasn't something in my big interest areas.

Was not what I thought this book was going to be, but I was pleasantly surprised. The narrator did a great job, though I can see if some folk don't like him. His voice really adds to the story telling, and I felt like I learned some from this book. Highly recommend to anyone who likes living off grid ideas, or wants to learn more.

Historia
There’s an apocryphal story that Alexander the Great once captured a notorious pirate named Diomedes. The great conqueror decided to interview the doomed pirate, asking him what he thought gave him the right to seize the property of other people. The pirate responded by asking the emperor what he thought gave him the right to take property that doesn’t belong to him, including entire countries. The story goes that Alexander thought the pirate very clever, granting him freedom instead of execution.

Historia
In 1839 rumors of extraordinary yet baffling stone ruins buried within the unmapped jungles of Central America reached two of the world's most intrepid travelers. Seized by the reports, American diplomat John Lloyd Stephens and British artist Frederick Catherwood sailed together out of New York Harbor on an expedition into the forbidding rainforests of present-day Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. What they found would rewrite the West's understanding of human history.
