This is exactly the book I needed. I laughed so much reading this. Heath Miller is an excellent narrator. if you like isekai and humor, yiu should try this one

A great blend of legends from around the world

A lot of research into myth and religion and legend clearly went into this series, and is treated with more respect than most fantasy. the characters are entertaining, the story solid. what stands out most to me though is that it is a *complete* story with an uncredibly satisfying ending, somethingnor a rarity in modern writing. A classic trilogy, a complete plot in 3 books, and an ending with all the emotions would could ask.
the MC is a little itritating, but all in all I recommend this series.

A rare find

Defiance of the Fall is a rare series, that IMHO, makes it past 3 books without losing its appeal. 12 books in and the plot is still strong, the characters still relatable. This isntallment does go off into the weeds a bit with deep dives into the mechanics of the system that arent as gripping as the story itself, but I personally like mechanics driven systems so its not a slog.
Its also nice having the same narrator all thebway through, especially one who is in the top tier of talent.

For real, this was one of the best trope-breaking litrpg's Ive encountered. MC often seems OP but that never lasts long. Narrator's pretty good too. All in all, highly recommend

Existence isnt on the line

Farmer feels like a nice halfway point between a slice of life story and an action adventure story. there is some wordd detail and depth, some system shenanigans, some conflict and some romance, all relatively smoothly blended into a ceherent and fun tale. the narrator is an a-tier performer IMO.
i will definitely be getting the next book in the series

annoying mc

the story and narration are pretty good...but the MC, who is supposed to be a mature grown man with many years of life experience including being married, acts like an unsocialized misogynistic homophobic 14 yr old boy. The side characters all seem pretty one dimensional.
i would love to know the rest of the story, but the MC takes any joy from the book away.

incredibly wholesome

The Beastrealms aspect of the series is solid, if unsuprising.
The real world side of the story, however, is laden with suprise twists and i may have shed a happy tear at the ending.
Travis Baldree is an excellent narrator, though we are lucky there aren't too many songs in the book (the sea shanty was really well done).
Read/listen to this series. It's a great break from the grittier, gloomier series that are (deservedly!) popular right now.

The story was really good. the narration was at the upper end of mediocre. The characters...were mostly one sided cliche bags.
I can't say whether it was a fault of the writing or the narration, but the conversation always felt stunted or forced. The banter was especially flat.
The MC frequently forgot his cool stuff until failing several times to do whatever task he was attempting. the members of his party were mostly bland, except when being stereotypes.
All in all, the set was worthwhile, but i wouldnt buy these individually.

overall a very good story, where the MCs are likeable and clearly good, and the villain is annoying and Clealy corrupt and evil from the moment you meet him
