would have been better...
Revisado: 06-09-16
the person who narrated Claire was terrible! She had an annoying sing song voice that almost made it unbearable for me to complete this. I'm really surprised she was chosen to narrarate. the story in itself was soso, not good and not bad. At times I drifted off from shear boredom.

A little dry for me....
Revisado: 10-02-15
I was disappointed with this one. The story was lackluster and the narrator was mediocre. All of the voices sounded the same, ironically the best one was the 4yr old little girl. In addition, the portrayed emotions sounded fake and unbelievable. So happy I only paid $1.99 for this one.

Historia
A group of close friends gathers at a secluded cabin in the wintry mountains of Colorado for a final holiday hurrah. Instead, it may be their last stand. First a massive blizzard leaves them marooned. Then the more chilling realization: Something is lurking in the woods, watching them, waiting.... Now a weekend of family, friends, and fun has turned into a test of love and loyalty in the face of inhuman horrors. The only hope for those huddled inside is to fight - tooth and nail, bullet and blade - for their lives. Otherwise, they’ll end up like the monsters’ other victims: bright pools of blood on glittering snow, screams lost in the vast mountains.

Great read all the way through, but didn't care for the ending. Superb performance by the narrator as usual!

A drag for me!
Revisado: 09-18-15
This story had some interesting twist and turns, some were predictable though. I don't want to spoil this, so I'll be vague. There were alot of farfetched and unbelievable turn of events in the story. The narrator killed it for me. She gave the main character Rebecca a whiny, annoying sing song airhead-type voice. Most of the characters sounded the same and in voices as if they were reading. In addition, the emotions sounded fake and unbelievable. I couldn't to be finished with this one.

I struggled through this one...
Revisado: 08-06-15
I really did not enjoy this book. I was so bored that sometimes it kept putting me to sleep. There were interesting periods here and there, but this story dully dragged out in my opinion. There were too many characters, perhaps to add to the whodunit shock value. Seemed to be over the top and pointless. At times I had trouble discerning who the present character was because the narrator's voice sounded pretty much the same for them all. I was disappointed with this one and couldn't wait for it to be over.

Great once it picked up!
Revisado: 07-21-15
This book started out extremely slow and sometimes a bit boring for me. 3/4 the way through is when it really grabbed me and then it captivated me. The sad twist was brilliant. The narrator was perfection. I felt every emotion and at numerous times I fought back the tears (because I was at work) as she pulled out the raw sentiments in me. She is very believable and portrayed each character with precision.

Decent story, but the narrator perplexed me.
Revisado: 07-20-15
I thought the story was interesting and brought out many emotions in me....I was disturbed, appalled, sad, felt empathy, anger, etc. However, the narrator has the strangest voice....it kinda creeped me out. She sounds wicked, angry and evil pretty much the entire time. Kind of sinister and demented actually; even when out of character and in narration mode. All of the characters sound the same and at times it was confusing for me to discern which character was speaking during a back and forth conversation! I strongly feel I could've appreciated this book more with a different narrator.

Loved it!
Revisado: 06-30-15
I loved this book! Kept me entertained from the beginning to the end! The author has become one of my favorites. She knows how to keep you engaged. The narrator is spot on with bringing life to the characters, although at times her voice sounds parched it does not take away. I also enjoyed her in Liane Moriarty's other novel, The Husband's Secret, which I also loved.
