I was taken back by the narration, when I first started to listen to this work, but either something changed, or it began to grow on me, because I was just fine with it by the end of the book

The perfect way to recover from orthopedic surgery. An entertaining plot and I didn’t guess who did the death deeds. It was calming and engaging without the need for high drama and tension and it was just long enough. There were nOr too many characters to keep track of in my head

Mora is growing up.
Revisado: 10-03-21
Earlier books in Rotherham series were a little frustrating because to me l didn’t the Mora’s behavior was mature enough for her age and life experience. This book seemed to bring her more of age. This was such any easy going and relaxing book to listen to. I am glad I picked back up on the series again.

If you like old fashioned British Mysteries that have a great plot and are not too dark you will enjoy this comfortable listen. The narration was excellent moving the story along at a good pace. There were no fillers and it was just long enough for me not to become tired for the ending. I look forward to listening to another novel by mash with the same

Historia
When Abigail Doorn was wheeled into the operation room at the Dutch Memorial Hospital, her face was strangely blue and bloated. A wire had been tightly wound around her neck. The strongest suspect, because he stood to benefit by the death of this wealthy old woman, was her protégé, the famous Dr. Janney. Just before her death he received a strange caller - one whose name he would not divulge. Ellery Queen, having come to the hospital to visit his old friend Dr. Minchen, had been present during the time of the murder.

Fun Historic who done it
Revisado: 10-05-20
Light intrigue that was easy to listen to while going about every day chores. This was my first Queen mystery and when I cam looking for something light but not silly and a mystery that makes me think a little without consuming my mind I will will look for another Queen. I tend to enjoy the older mysteries sometimes just to see how the author used the knowledge and resources of the day to solve the crime. Not a cliff hanger but very enjoyable.

Historia
The story of poison is the story of power. For centuries, royal families have feared the gut-roiling, vomit-inducing agony of a little something added to their food or wine by an enemy. To avoid poison, they depended on tasters, unicorn horns, and antidotes tested on condemned prisoners. Servants licked the royal family's spoons, tried on their underpants, and tested their chamber pots. Ironically, royals terrified of poison were unknowingly poisoning themselves daily with their cosmetics, medications, and filthy living conditions.

Revisado: 06-29-20
Once again I,find this novel like the others compelling to listen to. I know that because I spent time in Edinburg during cold winter weeks the story more relatable to me as I can picture many locations in the city the author describes. What
a treat for me because I enjoyed the city and it’s history so much. However, the narrator is wonderful and perfect for this type of novel, always holding my attention and making me look for times to be able to catch a few minutes to listen. I am pleased to see the main character Hamilton become more open and better able to question himself towards the end of the sorry. This makes me interested to see what happens in the next novel with respect to his continued personality development. I do love the historical mysteries and I fine this series more complex and intelligent than many. I also like the increasing richness of the other characters as their thoughts and feelings become more known. . I do love the historical mysteries and I fine this series more complex and intelligent than many. series for me is a very satisfying read with some closures and room for one to wonder - What next? I really do look forward to the next offering in this series!

Enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting both in the plot and the interaction of the characters. I look forward to seeing what members of this group of.Characters move on to the next novel. While I realize this is not some highly intellectual novel it is enjoyable for me to listen to at times when a good relax and distraction is more than the best medicine. I guess some would not, but I really do like the weighty tone of the narrator Stewart. I have liked him in other mysteries and I think he can pull of general feelings of darkness and menace very well. I hope he will stay on with this satisfying series.
