A very good book

I normally don’t write reviews, I just rate the books; however, when a story line stands out, I feel it deserves at least a few words. I picked up this book from the plus catalog while looking for a new book and have to say it was well worth a listen.

The voice acting is outstanding. Dual narration is always the way to go and the voice acters that were chosen for this book really brought the book to life.

The world building and progression of the story is just right. One of the main problems I have with authors is rushing scenes and leaving out details or getting hung up on giving to much detail. You will not find that with this book.

The character development is very good and each one has a unique personality.

I am a binge listener and have almost 2500 audio books. Most books that are 8 hours or less are listened to in a single session. In any given week I can go through as many as 5 to 8 books. I can count on both hands how many times I have written a review. So, take my advice and grab this book!

Worth the read

I write very few reviews; however, i am sure to rate them all. This one was worth saying that it was so well written that i couldn't stop reading it. It kept my attention from start to finish. I enjoyed it so much that i am considering reading more books by this author. The Plus cattalog is a great way of discovering different authors! Give this one a listen it is worth your time!

Almost didn't get it

I almost didn't get this book because of the reviews; however, i liked the whole idea behind the summary. I am glad I took the chance! I am the type of person who gets at least 7 to 10 books a month and most by new authors or ones I have never heard about. If you are able to suspend the normal lines of thinking and just want to escape into a new world you will like this.

I don’t hand out 5 star reviews; however, this series deserves it.
I also don’t normally write a review. I always rate all my books, but have only written a handful of actual reviews out of the 1000+ books I have bought. A book has to jump out at me in order for me to even consider getting a written review.
I really do enjoy a good series because it gives me the chance to become invested in the characters. The problem with that is by the 4th or 5th book I find myself not paying as close of attention to the story line, and just wanting to get through to the end of the series.
This author has gone above and beyond to make changes throughout the series to make enough changes so that every book is unique. Yes the characters end up overlapping in the story lines, but instead of it becoming redundant it gives you a bit of background that helps explain more about a previous outcome in an earlier book, and at the same time starts to link everything together so it almost seems like it is a single book.
Very good author with excellent story telling skills! It is well worth a credit, and if you are a plus member what do you have to lose checking him out!

Normally I don’t write reviews and just rate the books I either enjoy or dislike; however, I want to encourage others to buy this book and the author to continue the series.
There is a slight downfall with the back story being very long, but from where the book starts and the MC comes into play needed quite a bit of explanation. It probably could have been shorter, but it really does help get you invested in the MC.
The narrator did a really good job and the point I took off is due to the fact I think that authors should look into duel narration. It adds allot to the books; however, I also believe that you should keep the same narrator throughout the series.
I enjoyed the military lingo; it was kind of a blast from the past being exmilitary myself. For those of you who don’t know the lingo most of it can pretty much be figured out, and the stuff that you can’t: that is why Alexa and Wiki exist!
I am waiting for the next book in the series!

Good series

The one thing I can say about some of Eric Vall's audio books and specially Metal Mage, is once you get hooked on them you can't help but follow the series through. I looked at this title several times and had passed it by, but because I buy several credits over the membership every month I was lacking on new titles to read. I started this title 2 days ago and I have just bought the 4th book in the series. I am guessing before the end of the month I will own all 15 in the series that are currently out on audible.
There are several errors throughout the book as far as details and a few times the books seem like they make a jump; however, it is well written and as of the end of book 3 the story keeps advancing and doesn't seem to be repeating the same scenarios. The characters are easy to become invested in and I am enjoying the world building.
I enjoy lit-rpg but the stats can become a bit overwhelming with an audio book. This gives you something like the lit-rpg but without all the stats. The MC gains new powers as the book advances and isn't just all powerful at the beginning.
personally I have only written about 10 reviews out of almost 1500 books that I have read so that in itself should tell you that this book is worth a read!

Good Series

I normally only rate the audio books and skip the written reviews; however, in this case I feel the book deserves a written review.
The first book is kind of hard to get through. I found myself zoning out and having to rewind several times. The FMC seemed to switch between the intelligence and inter dialog of a 14 year old and a 25 year old. The internal dialog seemed to be a bit extensive and that seemed to be where I zoned out.
The story line and world building was very good. It is very easy to become invested in the characters, and the characters are well developed. This is also a VERY slow burn. If you are into the sex seen more than the story then this isn’t for you.
By the end of the first book I jumped back on audible and bought all of the other audio books that were currently available. Unfortunately there is only the total of 3 books available, and each book kind of leaves you hanging.
In short: is this series good enough to spend a credit on? Yes, but keep in mind that there are several questions at the end of each book that is not answered and I am sure that since I have finished the third book this pattern will remain throughout the series. Keeping this in mind if you don’t mind waiting for each audio book to be released to get answers then it is well worth it.

Very good read

I normally don’t write a full review; however, this book deserves it.
I enjoyed the plot and there was just enough detailed in the sex not to take away from the story.

For a monster girl fantasy it was probably the best one i have read.
I am looking forward to the next audio book. The narrator really makes this book enjoyable. So much so i am going to be looking for other books narrated by her.

Engaging story.

The tamer books are an enjoyable read, and the author has a great imagination. I have been waiting for the audio book release of this book for some time and was glad to see it pop up.

I guess the only thing i might have to say bad about it is that it is to short. Unlike his printed books the audio books have such a long delay before release. Normally i won’t get involved in a series before it is finished because i want to be sure they aren’t just going to get tired of writing it and stop. When i read the first book in the tamer series i didn’t realize it was going to be a series. Unfortunately after reading the first book i was hooked.

I am looking forward to the next one to be released!
