Riveting right from get-go. Rarely can a novel start off killing its heroic lead and only get better from there. Our hero, Michael Mace, works as a top tier security agent in a National Sercurity Agency who is killed by an accident in a secretive lab; however, he awakes on the morgue slab to find he is in possession of remarkable gifts. Now, armed with these gifts, he sets out on a journey to save the love of his deceased best friend and fellow agent in this brilliant novel. Highly recommend this tale from D. Koontz.

Great Job in a Crowded Venue

Its hard to find one author or series that doesn't disappoint in the end. Yet, I love post apocalypse novels and giving up on the genre isn't in the cards.

So, when I find well written and well told I think its worthy of a few words. Commune (currently #3) has drawn me in and I'm looking forward to following the tale to its conclusion.

A Solid Sci/fi, Horror, Story

A well told, unique perspective of the old aliens invade Earth yarn. The invader's use psychological warfare with horrifying efficiency to unhinged the population and in several scenes that deliver truly jump out of your seat scares. Good solid story telling!

Bad Story Gone Good

I'm use to mediocre post apocalyptic tales. I'm use to good characters in bad stories...neither are true here. Believable people in terrible situations who fight both the emotional and very tangible demons. Well done. Perhaps new narrator and faster pace.

I Stumbled upon Peter Meredith

I Enjoy Apocalyptic Themes:

Mostly because I like to imagine a desolated landscape littered with the remnants of humanity. Mr. Meredith takes me with him to such a place. While doing so he manages to make me laugh, smile and even grieve the passing of a character. Yet, never insults my intelligence along the journey. I think he will be around for years to come.

Complex in need of simplification

excellent tale that carries about 4 too many main charcters. the performing narrator impressively deals out the story, saving the day (and story). which easlily could have been lost by a lesser talent.

as a former employee of a comparative medicine unit this novel is on point if a bit shallow on dialouge. there will be an event and the living will envy the dead.
