Hope is the first dose
Revisado: 02-22-25
As a psychiatric provider, I often listen to books for the needs of my patients trying to expand my knowledge base. This book delivered more than expected. It touched me on an emotional level, along with providing common sense ideas to move forward along the path of life after traumatic events have occurred. whether you are a Faith based individual or not this, Book can enlighten your mind and heart, providing necessary, emotional and intellectual connections to help you move further along the path to healing from your trauma. I am recommending this Book to two of my patients. The narrator does an excellent job delivering the content. At every opportunity, I found myself drawn back to listening until the book was completed, that is a strong endorsement. I’ve listened to over 100 books on Audible and only written a handful of reviews. I hope you find this book as fulfilling as I did. Hope is the foundation for all good mental health. Good luck on your journey.

What are positive affirmations? An affirmation is anything that you think or say. This means that even your negative thoughts and words are affirmations. People have become used to thinking negatively, thus resulting in negative experiences and situations. It is important to retrain the mind to think only of good and positive things, so that only positive would also come out of the mouth. This is how you will change your life.

Basic review of ADHD
Revisado: 09-21-22
This book is best for individuals new to ADHD and those who need to short their understanding regarding the basic foundation and symptoms related to ADHD.
Definitely to elementary for clinicians unless the provider is uninitiated regarding this disorder.
For those with a solid understanding of ADHD there are still several valuable nuggets of information provided in this book but requires reading through the foundational material to find those nuggets.

Fantastic schizophrenia education through storytelling
Revisado: 07-06-22
After making it through the first six chapters it was impossible to stop listening. The education regarding how families cope and deal with schizophrenia was not only interesting but informative. For anyone looking to gain more insight and knowledge into this disorder this audiobook is a must. I enjoyed it so much I will be listening to it again. The science in chapters 33 through 38 is very interesting and current. Well worth your time if you enjoy education through storytelling regarding mental health. The book takes you through a range of emotions. A masterful story that makes you think about mental health in a different way and the impact it has on families.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the information communicated. I am reflecting on my own actions and how predictable they are based on This audiobook. If you appreciate understanding why people do the things they do you will enjoy this audiobook. Short, pleasurable experience, well delivered by both the writer and reader.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Mainstream health science has let you down. Weight loss is not the key to health, diet and exercise are not effective weight-loss strategies, and fatness is not a death sentence. Body Respect debunks common myths about weight, including the misconceptions that BMI can accurately measure health, that fatness necessarily leads to disease, and that dieting will improve health. The authors also help make sense of how poverty and oppression - such as racism, homophobia, and classism - affect life opportunity, self-worth, and even influence metabolism.
