Historia
Two retired Texas Rangers, Captains Woodrow Call and Augustus "Gus" McCrae, lead a cattle drive from the small town of Lonesome Dove to the unsettled Montana territories. On their grueling journey, they are joined by Joshua Deets, a Black scout and former Ranger, Jake Spoon, a fugitive, and Newt Dobbs, a 17-year-old boy who may have family ties to Call. Richly authentic, beautifully written, always dramatic, Lonesome Dove will make listeners laugh and weep, dream and remember.

Excellent story and narration.

This is one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I’ve listened to. Lots of people are bagging on the narrator but I think he nailed it. A lot of lines from Gus are semi-shouted, that’s true. But in the book he is said to be one of the loudest men in Texas so I’m not sure how else the narrator was supposed to proceed. Many of the lines out of Gus were laugh-out-loud funny and made even funnier by quality narration. Ignore the haters, this is a masterpiece.

Historia
When blue-blooded, storklike Samuel Wilson Fussell arrived in New York City fresh from the University of Oxford, the ethereal young graduate seemed like the last person on Earth who would be interested in bodybuilding. But he was intimidated by the dangers of the city and decided to do something about it. At 26, Fussell walked into the YMCA gym. Four solid years of intensive training, protein powders, and steroid injections later, he had gained 80 pounds of pure muscle and was competing for bodybuilding titles.

This book is excellent. It’s somehow inspiring, sad, funny and motivating all at the same time. I will be revisiting this title every few years I have a feeling.

The Irishman is an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked for legendary crime boss Russell Bufalino alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th Century. Spanning decades, Sheeran’s story chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries, and connections to mainstream politics.

Most of us have heard of gluten - a protein found in wheat that causes widespread inflammation in the body. Americans spend billions of dollars on gluten-free diets in an effort to protect their health. But what if we've been missing the root of the problem?

Great info, not my favorite narrator.
Revisado: 11-13-17
The book contains interesting information. I can’t say if it works yet but I will be giving it a try.
The narrator rubbed me the wrong way and I almost gave up on this audiobook after a few minutes. But that’s personal preference I guess and it shouldn’t stop you from learning what gundry has to say.

The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Historia
Among Americans, diabetes is more prevalent today than ever. Obesity is at epidemic proportions; nearly 10% of children are thought to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. And sugar is at the root of these, and other, critical, society-wide, health-related problems. With his signature command of both science and straight talk, Gary Taubes delves into Americans' history with sugar: its uses as a preservative, as an additive in cigarettes, the contemporary overuse of high-fructose corn syrup.

Great content, not a fan of the reader.
Revisado: 03-27-17
The book has great content and has me thoroughly convinced I need to incorporate more coconut oil into my life. It's sad that we've come to the point where we need to relearn what humans have known for thousands of years but sadly that's where we are.
Seven of talk about oil seems daunting but I can assure you it goes by quickly and isn't the least bit boring or overly scientific.
To be honest, I almost gave up immediately when I heard the readers first few sentences though. His style and tone don't match this type of content whatsoever.
