It’s been many years since I’ve wanted to let myself be immersed in a book and really enjoy the characters. I love the details, character complexities, history, rhythm and the steam. Bravo

I like the story! The narrator on the other hand..

I almost stopped listening to this book because of the narration. She sounds bored and slow...I'm not sure why. The voice isn't unpleasant but she literally sounds like she'd rather be doing anything else then read this book.

I'm glad I did NOT stop listening to the book because I like the story! It's really good. Am on the fence about book 2 just cuz of the voice!

Surprising find! Loved it.

I got this book on a complete whim for a vacation. I wanted something fun and light, and while this is certainly that it also has a whole lot of soul to it. Characters were incredibly enjoyable and relatable and I found myself wanted to know what would happen to them next! Looking forward to listening to move in this series.

Pro's and cons but overall I liked it.

I have no idea how to begin my review on this book. It was a random pick to fill the time during a drive and I wasn't sure what to expect. The premiss is very interesting and could be taken allot further if it wasn't for some juvenile writing and Finnie acting like a spineless teenager at times. I think it would of been a heck of allot more entertaining had she stood up to her man at times our outwitted him. In that same breath the story is a bit outlandish and it doesn't take itself to seriously so that is in a way it's saving grace!

I like the narrator but at times I didn't like how she read some of the scenes and the accents weren't so great.

But really what it comes down to is I listened to the whole thing, laughed a few times, liked the characters and plan to listen to more of her books. Give it a try!

I think I'd gotten one of these books (book 2) on a sale and didn't even realize it was a series till stumbling onto this one. I LOVE Sebastian! The writing is just the right mix of good story line, fun, action and romance for me. Narration is right on which is odd because I usually don't care for male or American narrators. On to book 4 and more!

This is not my usual book and I was very skeptical when selecting it. I ended up listening to this book on the drive home from a Christmas visit with my family. I could hardly stop to gas up when needed wanting to get right back to the book. It made me smile and cry and laugh a few times and thats just what I needed!

A love story

I love many different types of books but I do not review them often. This book was quite frankly amazing. Between the writing and the spectacular performance of Nicholas Boulton I listened to it in 2 days and only stopped when I had to. It's rare to have a book that can sweep you away into another place and time but this one did that for me. The supporting cast is just as colorful and full of life as the main characters. The description isn't what made me listen. As a matter of fact I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like it. Give it a chance and I hope you enjoy!
