Horrible Hero Narration

I could not enjoy the book. The portrayal and performance of the hero are super horrible. Each word and expression (and I mean every single one) conveyed anger and aggression. Seriously, even the expressions/emotions of joy, laughter, sadness, regret, responses/communication, disappointment, and jovial banters were performed in the same tone and impression of a militant on the edge. I attempted to increase the speed/pace of the performance to 1.5, but it did not help at all. I tried to enjoy the book with no luck.

Leaves a Bit to be Desired - Overall Lacking

The narration was quite terrible. I changed the speed/pace of the reading with hopes that would help with no luck. There is not much to say about the book, the plot of the was simply okay as it lacked depth and breadth. In other words, missing the zestful qualities that all excellent books must possess - overall lacking (requires proficient/ quality narration; a plot with zest, depth, and details that outlines the overall theme, addresses the 5Ws and H and answers all potential questions the reader may have about the characters. This book leaves you with more questions than answers. Where did she from?
How did the hero and heroine come to terms with their feelings for each other, throughout the book?

The plot just all of the sudden, one day he and/or she fell in love; although they knew literally nothing about the other than you'd read from a newspaper..

I mean, no gradual, I am going to resist the feeling or the infamous, I'm not deserving of love; or my favorite, I can't identify what this is I am feeling but of late my actions, responses, emotions etc. have changed, and so, it requires my best friend or a close relative to point out that I am in love with the man/woman.

Additionally, there were no progressive transition throughout the entire book, i.e. he/she thinking or stating I'm having XX feelings..... he or she makes me feel like no one else has..... I love it when he or she does ......... just nothing. These basic things were never addressed.
Where are the actual details of her past? What actually happened to her family? Now that she regained her memory, no was attempt to learn or close-out any info from her past for the readers. The 60 words provided about the heroine basically addressed nothing.
Moreover, how she came to her revolutions in the end for wanting to be with the hero after attemping to run was simply ludicrous and opposite to her portrayed personality. Note to author/editor, this is supposed to be a book for adults, not gullible children. There has to be a progressive /transition in the plot, for which day subsequently changes to night..... not an abrupt change.

OMG, Even with all the Drama it's Boring

This is the most boring book I've listened to this year....... my God. Not even the shooting and the running for your life, and sexual tension (and eventual sex) made it any better. I'm unsure if it was the narrative (slow monotone of the female) but whoa.... what a journey. Well, it must be, because Anna Zaires books are normally damn good.

Audio Version Not Recommended- Ruined it

OMG, the performance was horrible! I couldn't enjoy or take in the details or plot of the book. The narrative was completely robotic; and cannot be considered as acting or performing. The narrator was simply reading words on paper (stiffly). It didn't appear as natural interactions between people (not even when the characters thoughts were being relayed aloud to us). Oh God, even the sex scenes were intolerable (the "performance"), it was so lacking, it actually turned me off. The "performance" of the sex scenes were no different than illustrating/describing someone taking a trip to the library. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide an adequate review of this book with the narration. Request a re-read. Recommend purchasing the actual book and reading it for yourself. As is, you will not get what you are looking for out of the audio version.... too bad

I Can't - Couldn't Make it Past the

I couldn't make it past the first few sentences. The female performer's inflections were so damn annoying, I had to immediately remove the book from my library (and I've made it thru an Ann Flosnik's performance). I just can't.... Also, whomever was/is in charge of publishing/marketing/producing/rating did not do a very good job. There's no mention or indication if the book is for mature audience, is my teen able to listen/read, does it have erotic content, Christian, vulgar language, etc. what???? I even went onto other websites (Amazon, Goodreads, etc.) and there is still no mention of the nature of content other than the genre. No advisor....

Cliffhanger!

It's really good and as with all other cliffhangers, right as you're at the edge of your seat, wondering what's next it ends, Damn it. Sorry guys, don't have enough patience to write a detailed review, starting the 2d book now.

OMG this is Boring

This book was a complete disappointment. Half the times I couldn't follow along (way too many twist and turns) and the other half, was just boring. Seriously, I found myself hitting the play button (several times) only to remember that it was already playing (no, not with the volume down, it was just so boring I drifted off day dreaming, when I came to, and pressed the play button, I realized the recording was still going?).
The only interesting part about the story was the little skit about SabYork. That's it. The only thing I can tell you about the book are the names of some of the characters(Emery, Reid, Nash, Virginia, etc.) and that its about a rich family and a poor one (who worked for the rich ones. The rich came tumbling down and the poor ones became rich and ruthless. Throw in some penance, lies, misinformation, blah blah on Emery and Nash's part and bam there is the story. Save your money, the only part worth listening to is the 15 sec quip ref SabYork's role as a narrator and the insults he threw at Emery's boss (Chantleese).

Predictable

Could have gotten more stars but it was just too predictable. It is the same old friends agree to sleep with each other so one can gain experience. Since they are already friends of course they fall in love. One partner comes clean to say I love you and the other resists. Something huge happens, they break up for a short time. Then, one gets a revelation and they are back together after a spectacular go big or go home apology. They make up get married and have babies. The only difference is, the whole skit was pretty hilarious (Fraya is a riot) . Other than that, there's nothing very special about it. Sorry, due to the predictabilty, I cannot in good conscious give it a 4 or 5 star. It was OK. I wouldn't listen to it again. This one was just a "one read" and put it away.

Boring(ish)

There was a lot of drama and suspense but that is to be expected. So as a result, it was a little boring to me, I had to skip several chapters (and went back and forth). In the end, the best parts and most interesting was the last 3-4 chapters. I didn't like how the heroins went from 0 to 10 on the acceptance of sex and public displays (yes, I understand she was programmed to do what she was told for three months but it just didn't work for me).

Seriously

In the age of the ring door bell, spy cams, recorders, etc. these highly educated individuals, one a lawyer, the other a senator, and the other worldly experienced (at that), couldn't predict the events that would follow? You have got to be kidding me. You repeatedly get yourself in sh&%, and not to mention when things do not seem right.... oh I know, let's disregard it. Then there is a drug addict who is known to lie, make false accusations, etc. and regularly shows up at your place unexpectedly, you never once thought to install the ring door bell, or record your conversations.... Give me a break.. And, you are having issues with a social worker, who is clearly making decisions based on her personal feelings, is unprofessional, and you do nothing but make threats (You file no formal complaints). Then (spoiler alert)))), you get set up by the FEDs (and mind you a trap a kid would have seen coming) ignoring all of the red flags. There's so many other instances of BS. NO, just NO.... This book is too ridiculous to be believable. Sorry, this was a complete waste of my time.
