Historia
It's their usual Thursday girls' night in, and best friends Skye, Elena, and London are enjoying hanging out at Skye's house in New Mexico, eating junk food, drinking wine, and playing with Skye's little children, Carter and Abigail. Until the intruders arrive. Hearing the horrific screams from Elena and Skye, London hides the children, tiptoes out to see what has happened . . . and disappears. After Carter raises the alarm, Detective Alyssa Wyatt is called in to investigate a bloodbath that appears to have no motive, no evidence, and worse still—no sign of London.

Good story
Revisado: 11-21-23
Another good story from Charly Cox. I want to point out two things; one from this book and the one prior. The devices that hold ammunition for semiautomatic pistols are called “magazines,” not clips. In book 3, a firearm was referred to as, “a .22 caliber Glock 19.” The Glock 19 is only produced in 9mm. Future printed editions might be corrected by using, “a .22 caliber Glock 44.” Please take no offense from these corrections.

Historia
What would you do if you only had two weeks to live? That's the very question billions of people are grappling with after news an asteroid, named Colossus, will impact Earth and bring about an extinction level event. Many are in shock; some turn inward and towards God while others lash out in panic and violence. There is nowhere to go and nowhere to hide . . . except for a select few who have been chosen to go live in bunkers deep below the surface.

Not GMH’s best effort. Corny dialog and narration. Kindle or physical book might be the best route to this story. The Audible version fell short.

Unnecessary and inconsequential dialogue with a lot of woke political bullshit thrown in. If you’re “woke” you’ll love it, If you’re “awake” it’ll turn your stomach.

Done in Again!
Revisado: 01-31-20
Lisa Jewel’s work is always a refreshing break from the Post-Apocalyptic, blowing shit up, people dying stuff I read and listen to most days. A Friend of the Family is an inspirational and uplifting tale. This middle aged sentimental American man will revisit it again and wait enthusiastically for her next work of art.

“Better Than Napster”
Revisado: 01-06-20
Napster; that 80’s/90’s music sharing database that turned the music industry upside down. And, “Better than Napster,” is a line in book by one of the characters. So, How does a middle aged man connect with Lisa Jewel’s stories? It’s lines like that and I guess I’m just a big ‘ole wimp or something. Hell, I’ve listened to nearly all of them now! And One-Hit Wonder is, as they say across the pond, Brilliant.
Over the course of 12 hours follow Anna and watch her bloom as she and her friends search for the mystery that led to her sisters death. It’s more than a coming of age tale. Read or performed on Audible, if it speaks to this old man, I think it will speak to you too.

Historia
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.

What a great story Tim Abrahams tells from Book 1 to this final installment. I will miss Marcus Battle, but the great thing is, I can revisited this series again and again. Historia
A nation cannot be civil without civility. To some, civility cannot be restored until power is regained. A Civil War was a necessary evil, but make no mistake, it was evil. What do we, as human beings, owe to one another? And, what does it mean to be civilized when civilization is collapsing all around you? Author Bobby Akart once again masterfully tells a tale of a nation on the edge of societal collapse. For decades, Americans had found themselves increasingly at odds with one another - politically, socially, and culturally.

Not Akart’s Best Work (Series Review)
Revisado: 05-15-19
As stated in the review title above, this series is not Bobby Akart’s best effort. The story seems rushed and the series recap’s (books 2-5)and postscripts (books 1-5)books seem to be efforts to increase word counts. The story coupled with Chris Abernathy’s narration came over as juvenile and all too corny. There are flashes of interesting scenes and dialog, but they few and far between. If want the best of Bobby Akart, get the Boston Brahmin series and The Lone Star series.
