I'll be honest, listened only to the first chapter.
Wanted to stop at least twice in that time.
Is this guy for real? "Break a leg" coming from drool on stage? Pig bladder full of blood while in the pig? Shakespeare invented every expression in English language?

If this was a parody it would've been over the top. As it is it's just... [CENSORED].

Written better, more _real_, less dumb adventures, no treating women as b****es...
Love it.
Too bad it's short. Wish Audible made omnibuses.

As a criminal investigation story, it falls flat. As a sci-fi, it doesn't work.
But altogether it somehow hangs pretty tight.

Performance 4 out of 5, simply because Oliver's voices are too close to those he uses in MHI books, which makes for a strange de ja vu.

Plot is as tight as in the first two books.
However, due to Mr. Scalzi being either too lazy to research or too sloppy to think through all about Crypto stuff, the McGuffins of the story are... nonsense.
Too bad.

One hour of poor Hamlet suffering through unloved childhood.
One and a half hours of pointless retelling of Hamlet the play, with some reductions.
Fifteen minutes of a wow (not) revelation that Hamlet's Father was an Evil homosexual.
Riiiight.

I'll start with a warning: if you think Disney's Star Wars and the new James Bond movies are great, pass this book over, don't bother.

If, on the other hand, you like Literature more than action-packed books, appreciate Saki's humor and Bradbury's poetry-filled style, realize there is more to sci-fi than starships and more to fantasy than dwarves, this MAY be the book for you.

The stories are uneven. Some are great, some are boring or meandering or not clear what they are even about.
The narration is uneven. Rudnicki is amazing, Rubinstein so-so, others indifferent.
Some stories you'll skip over. Others will wow you.

In the end, it's not for nothing this is called a collection. It collects readers as much as it does stories, and if someone was to study the readers and their preferences, it would tell us more about the world than the stories themselves.

Very nice, quite engaging, but not as inventive as the first...
From the moment suicide is mentioned, it's quite clear where the book is going (though there are some twists still).

One of the earliest Card's book.
Highly imaginative, interesting world, no interesting characters, some ideas, too much philosophy.
Most of the time, main character doesn't act but rather is acted upon at best, ruminates about the evils of the world at worst.
If this book was written in the 60s it would've been right at home.
Enjoyable if you get it for free like I did (part of Catalog).

Rudnicki's performance is absolutely great as usual.

A great concept (murder as benefit) that the author really thought about -- what changes it would create in the world, how the criminals and the good people would use the new "thing", etc.
A very nice, tight plot with a twist or three in it.
Too bad the books is so short, I got it for free but otherwise would not have bought it...

Narration is very dispassionate which is good but makes it a little difficult to know who speaks, at times. Very little voice distinction.
