Love the characters, love the story, love the narrator!

I absolutely loved the story, and the narrator did an excellent job. Just the right mix of Florida, scuba, crime, and mystery!!! I really enjoyed the character development and hope that the next in the series is of the same caliber!

So much potential, but really lacking basic research

I really wanted to like this book, but from the beginning it was evident that the author did not know his subject. There are quite a few examples related to scuba diving that really irked me. Scuba divers don’t breathe oxygen (except for using it as a decompression gas shallower than 20 feet), the description of “rebreather suits” was nothing like any of the rebreathers (they’re not suits) which are available on the market, the basics of dive physiology are completely ignored, and the basics of cave diving are completely ignored. If you are a scuba diver with any significant knowledge of your sport, it will be evident that the author didn’t do basic research on the subject. If you are a cave diver, you will want to put the book down as soon as he describes any of the actions of the “cave divers“ in the book. Aside from that, the story is definitely all over the place, and in the end is glued back together haphazardly. The story seems written by a man interested in putting some of his bedroom fantasies on paper, and yet somehow wanting to throw a bit of religion in as an afterthought. I never like to leave a book unfinished, but it was tempting for this. The author really should have consulted with individuals that had a bit of knowledge of the subjects he wrote on, or at least done proper research… I would suggest a rewrite. Also not a big fan of the narrator’s secondary voices particularly the females… I know that’s not an easy task.

Amazing installment in the Nora Sommer series and phenomenal narration!!!

Each of the Nora books just gets better and better. Her suffering and soul searching are touching. I loved the story of justice for a case that would have been open, shut, and forgotten by most. Oh… and of course, I loved Baby-G and Jumbo! Harvey’s books are the best… add a great narrator like Kim Bretton and they’re even better.

What a fun intro book. I’m excited to listen to/read the next one! Finished it while blowing snow for several hours and felt a bit warmer for it!

What a great comeback… love this series!

I love the Buck Reilly series, but the last book Free Fall to Black wasn’t my favorite… too many weird lusty scenes with the awkward adjectives. It was great background story for the series and a good prequel of sorts, but kind of made me want to look for something else to read. Silver Goodbye brought back the adventure I love and skipped the attempts at becoming a harlequin romance novel. Adventure, planes, treasure, and islands… that’s what I wanted and this book has it all!

My favorite of Harvey’s books so far!

This has been my favorite of the AJ Bailey series. Of course, I should say my favorite of the series so far. Wonderful mix of historical issues with modern day adventure. The story of Solomon and his family is heart wrenching and one can only imagine how many tragedies past for slave families that will never be known to the modern world. To think that such beautiful islands and much of the modern world was once home to such an humanity… Even worse that there is still modern day slavery in parts of the world. Absolutely fantastic and can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Heavier than what I expected, but great!

What an absolutely awesome story with a very heavy subject matter. Usually I wouldn’t go for this kind of story, but have loved the series so far and really wanted to keep going. I definitely well written and I loved the cameo with Nick Sullivan as his books were what led me to this series. I can’t wait to read the next adventure!

Great story… Narrators voice is lovely, but zero understanding of Spanish pronunciation which is a huge fail!

The story is absolutely wonderful and I am immediately downloading the next books… Love the narrators voice, but for a book entitled guardians of the queen (English translation of a Spanish name) been pronounced as though it is a French word not only by the British characters in the story, but also by the Cubans is a huge fail. Most of the other Spanish words are mispronounced as well. It happens with many other terms and names throughout the story. Definitely a bit of coaching for the narrator would be beneficial.

Another wonderful read/listen! These stories are so fun and absolutely great entertainment! Traveling to the different Caribbean islands is a mini vacation every chance I get to listen… Love that the author is the narrator and he does such an excellent job! Can’t wait for the next one!
