Historia
In the Chinese calendar, 1964 was the Year of the Green Dragon. It would be a challenging and eventful year for Bruce Lee. He would broadcast his dissenting view before the first great international martial arts gathering and then defend it by facing down Chinatown's young ace kung fu practitioner in a legendary behind-closed-doors, high-noon-style showdown. The Year of the Green Dragon saw the dawn of martial arts in America and the rise of an icon.

More history than biography
Revisado: 08-03-22
Very good & interesting as a history of martial arts at a particular place & time. Short on Bruce Lee biography, so if you are mainly interested in Bruce Lee, this might not be it for you

Historia
Master of the Senate, told with an abundance of rich detail that could only have come from Caro’s peerless research, is both a galvanizing portrait of the man himself—the titan of Capital Hill, volcanic, mesmerizing—and a definitive and revelatory study of the workings and personal and legislative power.

Garbled order at the end, last 2 hours in just a repeat. Should've been broken in 2 not 3 audiobooks.

A major historical biography of George C. Marshall - the general who ran the U.S. campaign during the Second World War, the Secretary of State who oversaw the successful rebuilding of post-war Europe, and the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize - and the first to offer a complete picture of his life.

Featuring George Marshall
Revisado: 09-26-17
Fell into the common trap of bio's: the latter half of the book was a history of ww2 & the early Cold War as much as a Marshall bio. This is a common problem, and is forgiveable in popular biographies. In this case though, no one reading about George Marshall is unfamiliar with the era - they are reading his bio to add tp

Historia
In his own words, the heavyweight champion of the world pulls no punches as he chronicles the battles he faced in and out of the ring in this fascinating memoir edited by Nobel Prize-winning novelist, Toni Morrison. Growing up in the South, surrounded by racial bigotry and discrimination, Ali fought not just for a living, but also for respect and rewards far more precious than money or glory. He was named Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated and the BBC.

Great underlying work, but poorly abridged
Revisado: 12-04-16
Great storytelling & performance, but would prefer that audible provided a full version. The abridgement resulted in an uneven pace, you can really feel the gaps.

Historia
Know thy enemy. That's what the wisdom of history teaches us. And Adolf Hitler was surely the greatest enemy ever faced by modern civilization. Over half a century later, the horror, fascination, and questions still linger: How could a man like Hitler and a movement like Nazism come to power in 20th-century Germany – an industrially developed country with a highly educated population? How were the Nazis able to establish the foundations of a totalitarian regime in such a short time and hurl all of Europe – and the world – into a devastating war that would consume so many millions of lives? Professor Childers has designed this gripping 12-lecture course to shed light on these and other questions that have plagued generations.

The material on the political rise of the NSPD was fairly detailed. Everything after 1933 was little more than what you would get from a highschool-level history class.
