A charmingly crafted story

Absolutely loved this sequel, if you aren’t into big timeskips I would say maybe tread lightly, but I personally love to see characters grow and age. I’m also so incredibly glad that Tal got major character development! Fun read!

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

Fun. Not art, very gory, but 100% fun.

A wild ride from start to finish

I’m so glad that Twitter convinced me to pick this book up. Gideon presents a fine woven tapestry of two girls who are intrinsically intertwined in a complicated relationship that they must work out while dealing with a mystery in a haunted space mansion. Gideon is a delightful character to follow. This book leaves you wondering more about the world and the mysteries surrounding it, at some point it leaves you laughing and at others in tears, and most of all it leaves you grasping for the sequel.
