Historia
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of 40, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the complete Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor.

Utterly Amazing
Revisado: 02-20-24
David Suchet brought the living Word to LIFE with his reading. I learned more of the Bible listening to him read it than I have ever learned reading it on my own. Most people would agree that reading Leviticus can be down right trudgery but David Suchet even made that book manageable. I suggest this reading to all my friends and family. I love that I can go back and find the books and chapters I’m looking for. Because of David Suchet reading I will likely be one of the people who can truly say they have listened to every word of the Bible in their lifetime- and I may start it over again when I’m finished (revelations gives me nightmares though so maybe I will not listen to that one twice)

Much better than the last one
Revisado: 10-26-22
This one didn’t have any annoying child constantly getting in to trouble. I am noticing that the protagonist is always being told not to do something and then obstinately does it anyway- once is enough- 11-15 times in a story makes the protagonist seem unwilling to cooperate and is just becoming a handful. The stories are good but a less heavy hand on the repeating “Now Daisy, don’t do such it puts us all in danger” and she immediately does it anyway would be a nice change

Revisado: 10-18-22
The daughter is very whiny and made me want to stop listening. The performance was good and I’m glad that I can move on to the next book and hopefully the child isn’t in the next one or at least is not as troublesome and whiny

Historia
The McGunnegals are all strange, and it has been that way for generations. They are too strong, or too fast, or too smart, and odd things happened when they are around. The neighbors say they are witches or devils, or have been snatched by changelings. Mothers hold their children close when they walk by, fearing they might catch the McGunnegal strangeness. But misfortune besets them when their mother, Ellie, disappears, followed by their crazy grandfather, but not before he reveals a family secret to Colleen...

Revisado: 06-28-22
I wish the narrator didn’t do “voices” but that’s ok. The story is soooooo good, you will def be hooked. Reminds me of CS Lewis, Harry Potter and the hobbit mixed into one. Def good for ALL ages. I could listen to this with my children or my grandparents and know we would all enjoy it together

Too much cursing
Revisado: 10-21-17
Call me a prude but that was too much cursing for me. I prefer the "cozy" mysteries with more refinement of the characters -
you can find what I am looking for in books by Clara Benson, ngaio marsh, and the WONDERFUL T E Kinsley . (Not to mention the classics
; Dorthey sayers, status christie, rex stout, I h wodehouse)
I am sure these books would have been fine but I have up after the third chapter with the female love interest cursing instantly

September 1909, and Lady Hardcastle and her maid, Florence, have been invited to Lord Riddlethorpe’s country estate for a week of motor racing and parties. They both agree that it sounds like a perfectly charming holiday. But when one of the drivers dies in a crash during the very first race, they discover that what seemed like an uncharacteristic error in judgement may have a more sinister explanation...

When will another one come out?! I can't wait!
Revisado: 07-02-17
T E Kinsey has really got something great going on. I'm huge into my Agatha C, my Sir Arthur C, my Nero W.....it's taken years of waiting, searching, waiting again to finally find a new author who writes interesting, fun, cozy, intriguing murder mysteries! Now I have found her and I wait on baited breath for the next one!!!! T E Kinsey cannot write fast enough to satisfy my desire to hear more of the adventures of Lady H and Flo!
Elizabeth Knowelden continues to surpass all expectations as a narrator. I prefer male narrators such as David Suchet or Hugh Fraser but Ms. Knowelden is superb ! I can't imagine a Lady H book read aloud by anyone else!! She is the voice of Flo! And of Lady H. To a T!!
Please please please write more, have them made into audiobooks and read by Ms. Knowelden! I have nothing else to read or listen too that is of the same caliber!!
