This book acts as a review and reminder of how God works in a soul. I really appreciated how it constantly encourages prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in order to help us overcome ourselves and temptations and seek unity with God. I will probably read this book again.

Oblivion is a well told story with interesting characters and vibrant world building. Although the setup does take time to draw the reader in, it is, none-the-less, a powerful story. While definitely not perfect, this is an author to keep an eye on.

Jack Porter’s Rogan's Monsters is a classic adventure story with a litRPG and Harem flare. It is a solid entry in the genre and I am impressed with the creative elements and the overall smooth writing that seems to characterize Porters works. This is just a fun read that doesn’t devolve into silliness. The only problem is its too short.

This is the first book that I have read by Jack Porter and I have to say that I’m impressed. This genre is often filled with poor characterization and juvenile depictions of sexual encounters. That is not the case with The Bastard. Here Porter crafts a world that manages to the Arthurian story into a very entertaining fantasy tale where things are more than they seem. Its such a relief to read a story from this genre that is tasteful. I will likely read more of Porters works.

I love it when an author creates a world that makes a reader want to go back over and over. This is exactly what Kevin Hardman has done for me in the Kid Sensation series. When I am looking for superhero book for a fun read with a good plot this has become my new go to. It’s a great coming of age YA series that manages to be both highly entertaining, and creative while holding to a classic, comic-style superhero feel. I enjoyed this so much that I can say with confidence that I will defiantly be reading more books in his series.

I am always on the lookout for discovering a new great book, unfortunately the great ones are few and far between. The Culling of Man is one of those rare books that makes weeding through all the bad ones worth it. It is perhaps the most unique and original entry into the a LitRPG world that I have read to date, and best of all it’s realistic. The main character is not overpowered and what he does makes sense with the overall story arc. If you like LitRPGs than this is one of the top ones that I have read. I truly cannot wait for the next one.

Ravine of Blood and Shadow is an excellent introduction to a fantasy landscape entirely dominated by dwarves. It is a world steeped in legend and mystery that draws the reader in and immerses them in the rich culture. All this to say that the world building is fantastic and truly feels I. Combine this with an interesting story and a well-paced plot and it make for a good read. As it is written like an epic, my only critique is that it needs to be longer to fully satisfy. With that said, this is by far the best dwarf centered fantasy that I have read. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Towers of Heaven series is not your normal LitRPG. While I enjoy the genre, I don’t expect them to be anything other than fantasy romps that are light hearted and enjoyable. This book however, is complex and believable, it feels more like you are reading an epic fantasy disguised as a LitRPG. While, I’m sure the book has its flaws, to me it’s the a perfect LitRPG. I truly cannot wait for the next installment. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I could not put this book down! Literally, I finished it in one sitting. While I do enjoy progression themed LitRPGs, this is was the most entertaining one I can remember reading. Too often the LitRPG genre is filled with simplistic characters and poor plots. Towers of Heaven doesn’t have this issue. Moreover, Cameron Milan conveys a world that is as dynamic as it is imaginative. The characters draw you in, the world captures your imagination, and plot grips you. Combine this all with spot-on narration from Steve Campbell and all I can say is that this book is truly fantastic.
