I stubbled on this and I think it was meant for young readers. As an adult I found it a little childish and had trouble getting through it.

Love the term "Bobiverse" I usually don't like post-apocalyptic fiction because it can be depressing but this was a great read. I love the star trek references and the way Bob uses common sci fi references to make decisions. The "Prime Directive" gets thrown out the window and Bob saves mankind. Very original universe and good writing.

Amazing narrative on the pre-war conditions

Very compelling story of "Pug" and his family before WWII but you have to listen to hear the insight into what was going on and why things happened they way they did to really understand the significance of this book. The author did a fabulous job of researching the events and even does an amazing job of asking "what if" Britain had not declared war so soon, or if Japan had attacked Russia instead of the US. Amazing and very thoughtful analysis.

I loved this book. I feel like I understand so much more about that time.

I hung in there and it wasn't bad

I hate to offer reviews usually because writing is so hard and I couldn't do it justice. I want to say nice try and way to go for even bad stories. So I will try to say what I mean in a respectful and kind way. (How could anything good come from a preface like this?)

Author notes:
The Universe created was very compelling. I'm usually turned off by magic but it works well in this setting and the author does a good job creating and describing the universe. I liked it.

Characters are interesting. I liked the character of Mort and really like Carl. Well done development and even though they do bad things I still liked them.

Storylines: Here's where we kinda ran off the rails. The stories are sometimes very creative and compelling but too easily resolved. Too often the author glosses over a solution and does not go into any detail to describe how they got out of trouble. I would add that some of the storylines are a little dull. The last in particular, a band that sucks and plays a video game against all comers to earn food money. That's how we wrap up the whole adventure? Way too shallow.

Narration: Great job, many voices well done and easy to listen to.

So, hope to see more in future from a more mature author. Big Fan.

no the print version would be better because the charts would be usable.

Tame and predictable

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Much more ghostly activity and character build up are necessary to save these stories.

What was most disappointing about Alexandria Clarke and Roger Hayden ’s story?

These stories are more amateur detective than ghost stories, the person being haunted solved the crimes then the ghosts show up to seek vengeance. Predictable and never very thrilling.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment was pretty solid.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The first few certainly were, but this one is getting a little like a favorite toy that you just get tired of.

What does Nancy Wu bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She makes the story fun. Her valley girl interpretation is very entertaining

Daves and Clete are old but Clete still kicks ass

What did you love best about Light of the World?

The Bobsy Twins from homicide still rock n roll

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story development on this one was weak. Dave n Clete are on vacation in Montana blah blah blah, halfway through the book they finally get around to getting involved in the plot. This one was unnecessarily slow.

Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Will is great, good match to Burkes novels

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I though for a second that Burke was going to kill Cletus off. Just for a moment though

If I had listened to this novel before all the others I would not have liked it. But after listening to every other novel I feel like Dave n Clete are old friends.
