I found the story difficult as the female lead. comes across as a conniving manipulative unfeeling )$&/! At the beginning, readers are sympathetic to her plight. Yet when she's grown and her circumstances change, the character seems to forget what she has gone through and she looks down on another who has survived similar circumstances. It's difficult to hope good things for her when she seems to be ok to be hurtful to one she is supposed to care about. The story is well written and the narration is good. I would recommend it even though I was frustrated.

Good story, but..., there was a continuous error throughout the story. It should not be a big deal, yet everytime it happened I would get frustrated. What might this error be? There are FIVE Sinclair children, not 4, but FIVE!!! Callum, Alexander, Tanisha, Magnus, and Mairghreid. Yet every allusion to the children said 4. Not sure if that was in the print version or a mistake in the transcript given the narrator? Regardless, it was annoying enough to take away enjoyment of a good story, part of a good series.

Alexander is the second son of Liam Sinclairs brood: 4 sons, and 1 daughter (the baby) - can you say over protected? Of all the sons, it seems he has always been the least rakish of all the brothers. He saved a lass he found amid a gale storm near the gates of the Sinclair keep. He brought her in, called the healer yet proceeded to care for her while waiting for the ladies to help . From there a romance seemed to grow. However, the female protagonist became quite frustrating as well. Yes, a story needs conflict, but ... I will continue with story. The first 3 stories were enjoyable and introduce the reader to the Sinclairs and what kind of people their clan is made of.. I definitely will continue with the story. Unfortunately, no additional audio books have been produced for the rest of this branch of the series. Yet, other branches that take place after this part ends have been recorded. Unless a person is willing to g to revert to the written works, then one must wait. Like I said... frustrating!

The Warrior is the 7th book in the MacAllister / Brotherhood of the Sword series. I have enjoyed how the stories have woven together. It is a mark of a good series when the reader feels connected to characters regardless if they are primary or secondary in the tale. This particular story focuses on the Laird of the MacAllisters as well as one of his brothers who was believed to have died of his own choice several years earlier. Of course it is tale of romance, but there is components of mystery throughout. There are numerous twists and turns that are compelling. For the most part, I truly enjoyed this story, this series. However, there were a couple things that gave me pause.

One thing that grabbed my attention, in a negative way, One of the main descriptors of the MacAllistors is how stunningly attractive each brother is. However, the pictures on the covers of all but one tome leaves me flat. I realize it really should not matter, but it does. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but these visages are far from attractive. Rant over - for now.

Without leaving a spoiler, I was disappointed with the climax, denouement and the epilogue. You will have to read the book to find out why I was disappointed with the first two components. The epilogue felt like stepping into another genre. It was a stretch.

Anthony Ferguson narrated the entire series. I always enjoy listening to his work. He is very talented and does an excellent Scottish brogue and creates many voices and accents.

All in all, I recommend the story... read the entire series so everything makes sense. Enjoy.

This is book 1 in a new series. Each main character is connected through grief and brought together by the Earl of Macklin, the uncle of the main character (also an Earl) of this tale, who hoped to assist each young lord with his journey to overcome this sad state.

This story is well written. There are several surprises, twists and turns. One of my favourite characters is Geoffrey, the Earl's son. He is tenacious, creative yet sweet. His interest and observation of vocabulary creates a kindred spirit to this reader. I would recommend this book as well as the entire series.

This book was listed the final story of the Company of Rogues, so it makes sense that all of the Rogues and their wives are a part of the story. However, the story focuses on Dare, the last living Rogue. Dare had been thought dead as he never returned after the battle of Waterloo. Yet , over 3 years later he was found by other Rogues when saving "King Rogues's" daughter . You will have to go back and read the series to get the whole story (ies). It's the best way to understand the entire tale and capture the nuances.

Although this is a historical romance set in the Regency period, one of the most heinous components is an addiction to opium, a very modern day illness. In this case, it was given to hQim as part of an evil plan to cause grief to one of ok the other Rogue's. Dare's biggest hurdle now is to get rid of the beast of addiction's

This tale is intriguing , a romance, a mystery vibe that has the reader thinking. Of all these stories, I found this one of the best. As it winds down, we get to conclude the story lines of the other rogues, I totally recommend this tale. But... do read the series from the beginning.!

If you listen to audiobooks like I do, the one thing I found disconcerting was the frequent change of narrators. Other people Han that, enjoy! I'm pp

WHazard is Book 9 in the Company of Rcogues. H The main characters were introduced a in earlier stories in the series. Lady Anne was jilted by 2 of the rogues who married for love instead of duty. Race worked as a secretary / companion for Con, Lord Wyvern now as companion to Lady Anne's brother. In the earlier stories, Lady Anne was described as quiet, demure, a true lady. In Hazard, she has developed way beyond a "little mouse". Race knew about her rejections, so felt compelled to check on the poor dejected lady. Much to his surprise, Lady Anne was much different ... and he was intrigued. Alas, she is the daughter of a Duke and expected to marry close t o her class. Race is not even a true member of the Ton.

Narration for Hazard was done by Anne Flosnik who did a good job. I do find it disconcerting to have different narrators throughout the series. Some are better than others. I enjoyed this one.

Miles Cavanaugh, a special member of the Company of Rogues, is an Irish affiliate. He was sent to England to be educated at Harrow's where he was selected to be a member of the notorious and close knit group of fellows. At the ripe age of 25, Miles was made guardian of Felicity, a beautiful 20 year old . They are widely attracted to each other, yet Felicity is determined to marry a nasty piece of work. Once she reaches her age of majority, she can marry whom she pleases and access her enormous inheritance. What does this piece of work have over Felicity? Good question! I recommend the story to get the answers.

The book is well written and pulls in the reader. There are some areas that are drawn out and run a bit slow. However, I found this to be a factor in all the books in the series. Yet, it is not enough to bring reluctance to read/ listen to the stories. In fact, the stories are enjoyable and it is great how all the "rogues" weave in and out of each others tales.

I have to speak to narration. I love listening to all accents from UK area (even if it wasn't UK in this period) ... I love Scottish brogues. British aristocracy, a strong Irish accent (can also be known as brogue?), cockney, etc. Unfortunately , there really wasn't any apparent accent at all, It is somewhat disconcerting that the series has several different narrators including different genders. All that said, it is still worth reading / listening. I am already on the next book.

This was the 2nd book in the Company of Rogues. I enjoy meeting characters in one book and then following their story in another. This one had several twists and turns, yet some of the plot lines were drawn out a bit too long. In the beginning it was difficult to be fond of the female lead, Beth. She was very self righteous... too much... to the point of being hurtful. It made it easier to sympathize with the male lead, Lucien, even though he had a temper and could be mean spirited when hurt. In the latter part of the story it was easier to like them both but it took a while to get there.

Narration was ok. Could do a lot of accents from aristocratic to street.

The story covers relationships: familial, man/woman, community, master/servant and spiritual ... basically the whole shebang! The story was developed at a good pace that let the reader interested and going forward. If you are looking for a light romance that has frequent inspirational moments, this is a good choice.
