The narration made Bangley come alive. Very good post-apocalyptic tale. It was reminiscent of The Road but nowhere near as sad.

The story gets better as you go, especially when he gets to the mud lake. I've heard many post-apocalyptic audiobooks and this is the first volcano scenario I've encountered. refreshing. I've also heard a lot of narration. narrator needs work. try losing the "breathiness".

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Maberry writes a fun action type tale but manages to add the cerebral touch to keep it interesting and much humor. Characters are well developed, including the dog. Joe Ledger is extremely witty and adds a good chuckle on about every other quip.
Joe Ledger & company, while not blasting terrorists and throwing down daring feats of hand-to-hand combat, explore the psychology of why bad guys do bad, why good guys can waste them and not become bad guys.
If you haven't read any other Joe Ledger novels, you can still enjoy Code Zero. There are plenty of recaps of past adventures, preventing the reader from feeling that they're walking into the middle of a story.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Nothing really.
Could you see Code Zero being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Ray Porter *is* Joe Ledger now, I guess. He seems to be a fan. He brings a a lot of emotion to Joe Ledger's dialogue. Very believable. He passed all the narrator-paying-attention tests with flying colors.
What is a narrator-paying-attention test? Bob said "Aw, come on guys!", and he sounded like a fast approaching firetruck when he said it.)
