I finished the listen a few days ago and by happenstance the book is still open in my app, so I read several reviews. So, some one living with a relatively mild anxiety disorder and a family member with a much more intense anxiety (OCD) disorder:
I loved this book. I felt at least hears if not 100% understood.
Yes Aza is exhausting, that is the point. Those intrusive thoughts are completely not in your control. They are incredibly powerful, never are they helpful or rational. AND they don't stop just because your tired, or sick, or doing something else you Really want to do. They are exhausting and sometimes completely take over. There's no quick fix, it never truly goes away. But with proper Healthcare intervention it gets better, manageable and you gain control.
I think/hope John Green's goal was to give a voice to those who just can't... and to shed some light onto a very real issue in the US
and the horrible stigma we've put on Mental Health Disorders to the point that we think we just need shaken, it's not real, it's all my fault, I'm too weak, I'm not good enough... I hope you get the point.
The internal dialog that Aza has is painful! But the point too is that if you saw her on the street or in class... You'd never know. Maybe she's a little moody or weird, Would you be kind to her?

Familiar yet unique. Just like April May. the reference are amazing giving the story a time stamp of today but also the sense that it could also be in the future

I came to know about John Green through his brother. I live with a beyond amazing, unique young adult that is passionate about science. He is beyond brilliant with an understanding of the universe that is beyond... Hazel reminded me so much of my son and how blessed I am to be his mom. I made him perfectly imperfect and I will love him forever, no matter what. This book, although my kiddo isn't sick or dying, helped me come to terms with the grief and guilt I have for the challenges he experiences. thank you

The title and or link needs a warning that it is not for children. contains very detailed content that is not appropriate for children in addition to language. It is getting more as the series progresses.

Gloriously Irreverent

very much enjoyed this series. the irreverent comments and character development do a wonderful job of connecting to the story.

Good, not great

struggled to keep track of some of the crew characters. Not sure, but it seemed that at one point the same character was on the planet and on the ship and sometimes the "voices" of the characters seemed to change. It was distracting other wise a good story but very similar to other stories.

sweet and enjoyable

sweet fairytale with a bit of an update. the heroin is not week but also gets help from some good unexpected friends learns and becomes better for her struggle

Slow, petty, couldn't finish. nothing like the previous books. contrived immature trite. I would not recommend.
