Historia
Acheron Colony was supposed to be humanity's greatest windfall. Using long-range sensors, the planet tested out as a super-Earth—but the reality is frightening. Instead of a green world bursting with life, the colonists find a dead rock covered in ash. Something has dismantled every organic molecule on Acheron—and no one knows how or why. When a mysterious signal that defies explanation begins to pulse from an alien ruin, the colonists panic. Something ancient was here long before them, and the signal, like a heartbeat, won't let them forget it.

Shallow and simple story
Revisado: 03-17-25
I’m a huge BV Larson fan and have come to expect amazing characters and exciting story lines. Rift war is neither and to be honest is nothing like the rest of Larson’s stories. It’s shallow without and depth, the characters doesn’t make any sense and are not consistent, and the science is simple, stereotypic and simple. I know BV Larson can do better and I’ve enjoyed countless of his books so I suggest to skip the series and pick pretty much any other title by him.

Worth the credit, BUT...

Continues repetitive action
Revisado: 04-27-24
“Help! Blue aliens! Shoot! No, run!”
This sums up 95% of the books, the rest is sometimes moderately interesting. Calling the aliens ‘Organics’ is just really weird and the whole main plot of why they invade seems like a poor cover up for an sci-fi action story that probably and sadly aspires to go to the movies,
I almost always have to finished a book series because I enjoy stories and character development, the latter was the reason I continued. There are much better sci-fi stories out there.

Great story, but a little shallow and lacking in science
Revisado: 01-30-24
Love the story of the classic low level good guy and the solar system exploration. But the science in this sci-fi title is a little lacking and it gets a tad annoying. The whole mutant population with functional mutations is just poor and the time travel with minor changes to the timeline.. well it works, but I personally expect a bit more ‘realistic’ science. But love the character progression and will get the next book for sure.

Love the series, but this book was not on the same level
Revisado: 10-05-20
I love this series, the characters, the plot and diversity. This book stay the same as previous, but lack a main story line. What I initially thought would be a sub plot in the book developed into the main plot and unfortunately it felt a little like a transportation to the next stop/book. Still the story developed and I found my self eagerly awaiting the next part.

Good, but getting a little repetitive
Revisado: 05-11-20
I love this series and will most likely continue to follow the adventures, but I am no longer as excited and surprised by the story and particularly not by the characters (the over-righteousness is sometimes a bit much) as before. Taking the story back into space is a little refreshing and the new enemy is a mystery that interests me.

Good concept, but poorly developed
Revisado: 04-24-20
I found the concept idea very interesting and was probably expecting a lot from the story line and characters being a huge BV Larson fan. But it didn’t deliver as expected. The characters behave oddly and actions and consequences doesn’t always make rational sense. Occasionally booting, and occasionally interesting but rather predictive. Still I found myself interested in the only thing that kept me going - the background of the main character and the development of the sphere it self. This could have been much better, and I hope the sequel will deliver.
