Amazing - Collin’s best work to date

This was her best book by far I cried, gasped, and was left with my mouth hanging open more times than I can count. Every book she writes is better than the last. Spectacular I can’t wait to read it again.

Hooked me quick but…

Book was good and I was intrigued but honestly fell so flat at the end. The ending just wasn’t good or well fleshed out. I was left with more questions than answers. So unfortunately I agree with the other reviews that it had me most of the way but the ending felt like the author ran out of time.

This book just wasn’t good

I wanted to like this, the premise was interesting the storytelling, world building and character development was nonexistent. I cannot believe it has so many good reviews. It was just boring I kept checking to see how much was left in it. I have zero desire to read the other books in the series. I just do not care at all what happens because it’s all so one dimensional it feels like it was written by a 7th grader.

Narrator is horrendous

I love Freida but JFC the narrator made me want to quit the book about 6 times. Like nails on a chalkboard and when she voiced the male characters? I wanted to yeet my phone out the car window on I10.

Liked but didn’t love

Was very twisty and left you guessing right up until the end. My main issue was the main character who just seemed like an idiot who repeatedly kept doing stupid over and over again.

By far the worst Beck series

I was hoping this one would redeem the other 2 but was disappointed. This is the least like able “hero” I have ever read by Beck. I repeat listen to a lot of his series. I won’t with this one and am going to be sure to delete it. The main character is an idiot who does things for no reason, has no redeeming qualities, is a douchebag, yet manages to sleep with every single female character in the book and they are all obsessed and fighting over him… right. The best part was when the dragons were eating people and the no name side stories. If I want to read Smut instead of horror and suspense I’m going to pick a different author this was painful to get through. Especially with the fabulous narrator, which just made me laugh at him narrating the ridiculous sex scenes that made Zero sense. It was bad. I have been rooting for the dragons to eat Troy since book 2.

This felt very out of place for the rest of the series. In fact, if I reread this series in the future I will NEVER listen to this one again. It was kind of weird and awful but in a completely unenjoyable way. Comes across way too try hard, wish I would have listened to all the other real reader reviews and skipped this one.

Excellent book, Horrible Narrator!

She makes the male characters sound stupid and nasally. Not to mention I keep having to adjust the volume because for no reason at all she keeps changing the volume of her voice. Bearing no relation on the story she is either whispering or yelling! I had to resign countless times because I couldn’t hear what she was saying, what is the point of that in an audiobook??

I usually love Beick’s work

However it’s hard to enjoy the book when the main hero is kind of an asshole who doesn’t have much sense. The animals and world building as always is awesome! Troy is by far my least favorite Beick “hero” though. He talks a lot about honor for someone who doesn’t have any in his actions.
