MY HEART
Revisado: 05-15-24
My soul and spirit needed this book. Grief and loss have affected me many times over the years, and my faith was hanging on by a thread. Granger’s story (about his son, his father, and his own journey) have helped me in many ways. This was an incredible audiobook! I loved all the little side notes and added pieces either Amber at the end! Thank you for writing this and thank you for using your grief/story for good.

Historia
Melissa Zaldivar talks honestly about losing everything that once defined her and how God used unexpected opportunities, like working at Orchard House, where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women, to spark a journey of working through her grief and encountering the all-sufficient love of Christ. Weaving inspiring passages of Scripture and insights from Little Women into her personal story, Melissa encourages listeners with her discovery that it’s when we have nothing left to offer that we can receive God’s love the most. And that’s something that can never be lost.

Worth the listen!
Revisado: 06-24-23
My personal story involves loss after loss, wave after wave of grief. I’ve been looking for books to help ease the pain and suffering of grief as a Christian. I head about Melissa and her book on The Daily Grace Co. podcast, and instantly added to my wishlist. I finally got around to listening, and I’m so glad i did! I felt like I was on the phone worth a friend. Not a counselor or a pastor or another atheist friend/family member. I could relate to the words of this book, and felt more connected with each chapter.

Historia
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

5 stars isn’t enough!
Revisado: 06-17-23
I listened to the audio book in TWO DAYS! As a Christian LTC and hospice nurse, I LOVED this book! I’ve been following Nurse Hadley on social media for years, and have always loved and related to her content. This book is full of emotion, compassion, and dedication to patients and family during the most difficult times of their lives. You won’t be disappointed listening to Hadley read her own book on Audible! Have your tissues on stand by, this book is a tear-jerker (in the best way!) I will be buying a copy for all my nurse friends and family this Christmas! Great Job Hadley, the world needs more nurses like you! So proud of you! 🖤
