This story could have been good but the MH was an asshole for too long in the story that when he -finally- had the 'revelation' that he actually wanted to be with FH, I was left with absolutely no sympathy for him and feeling really indignant on the FH's behalf.

Nor was it really convincing that he could spend so far in the plot blindly refusing to accept FH only to have him change his mind so suddenly and at that point in the story.

The FH deserves better, which ruins the romance...

On a separate note, Lily Bask is a very good narrator.

TL:DR - Text to speech engines make for a better listening experience than this narrator.

First of all, this was a really great read. The FH and MH were so charming and funny and the whole narrative has a lot of character and levity and wit. When I read it, I could understand why the mains fell for each other and the plot stayed consistently interesting.

I really, really liked this story, so much so that I knew I needed an audio version. However, the narration was so bad that it sapped all the character and tone out of the story. The delivery really did not do this story any justice, and I found it to be so insufferable that I couldn't make it past the first 'page' before I had to turn it off.

Since the publishers are unlikely to record this with another narrator, I'll be using my phone's text to speech to listen to this book. Shame.

Would you listen to The Sheikh's Destiny again? Why?

Yes, because I enjoyed the story and the narrator.

What other book might you compare The Sheikh's Destiny to and why?

Other Olivia Gates novels (which there aren't enough of on Audible, tbh)

Would you listen to another book narrated by Suzanne Cypress?

Yes, her voice reminds me of Susan Eisenberg, which is especially fantastic to listen to when there's female dialogue.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, there was.

Any additional comments?

I like the story, and the narrator, BUT:

The pause between some of the lines was so long that sometimes (so often that it became an annoyance) I had to check whether the audiobook was still playing!

What made the experience of listening to Atlas Shrugged the most enjoyable?

The narration and the story were both excellent.

What did you like best about this story?

The protagonists, the style, the fact that it makes you think.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He captures the tone of the story and the personalities of the characters extremely well.

Any additional comments?

This story is about a bunch of honest, self-serving, greedy rich people fighting a bunch of self-deluded, pillaging, hypocritical rich people, trains, and industrialists.
It doesn't sound that appealing and honestly, I was very skeptical, but I really enjoyed it, a lot.
If you have the time, I would definitely recommend this audiobook.

Would you consider the audio edition of The View from Saturday to be better than the print version?

The audio version is better in that you can listen to it and do other things while you're at it too, but I think that's the same of all audiobooks.

What did you like best about this story?

It's witty and unassuming and I think it can be enjoyed by story lovers of all ages. You can really feel for the characters in this story.

What about Jenna Lamia and Jan Maxwell ’s performance did you like?

They voiced all the characters really well. I have nothing to complain about.

Any additional comments?

This was amazing, and a completely feel good read.
I would highly recommend this story/book/audiobook to anyone.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Sure, but probably only because it was Jim Dale reading it.

What could Erin Morgenstern have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It's just personal preference, but I didn't really find this book that engaging. The premise of the book seemed really interesting and the idea had the potential to be so much better than I think it turned out to be.

I think it would have been better if the author took some more time to flesh out the world that this story takes place in.

Although there was nothing wrong with the choice of words, the development of the story was shallow as a whole. Nothing was really well explained or expanded into. Nothing extremely engaging happens in this book.

The characters weren't well developed and their relationships don't seem like a natural progression. It feels like they do the things they do not out of personal choice, but it's what the author wants to happen, if that makes sense.

Personally, I found the ending of this novel as lackluster as the end of the Twilight Series and upon finishing this novel, I was left feeling wholly unsatisfied.

Honestly, I would recommend any of my friends to just wait and watch the movie if they're interested in this book.

Have you listened to any of Jim Dale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to Jim Dale read Harry Potter so many times that I admit, him narrating this novel played a huge part in my decision to get the audiobook.

His performance was spectacular, though that opinion may be (read: definitely is) extremely biased.

The only reason I gave him 4/5 stars is because I could recognize some of the Harry Potter characters in the voices he used for this book. Honestly, I found that kind of funny and I didn't mind it so much but there it is.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

If the world and its characters were better developed and more substantial.

Any additional comments?

This story as a whole doesn't really live up to whatever hype it has but honestly, I'll probably listen to it again just because I like Jim Dale.
