At the start of World War II, Jack and Sadie Rosenblum flee Berlin for London with their baby daughter, Elizabeth. Upon arrival, Jack receives a pamphlet from the German Jewish Aid Committee on how to act like a proper Englishman. A sweet funny story on the struggles of assimilation
Revisado: 09-21-23
The Rosenblooms have recently arrived in England and are trying to blend in. This is particularly important to Mr. Rosenbloom who observes the English and makes a very long list of rules which he believes will help them. A charming, funny, sweet story!

I have read numerous books written about WWII each with a slightly different perspective. I was very taken by the person character qualities of Lalay. Excellent read!

Engaging set of stories
Revisado: 04-24-18
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narration was great and I loved the way the stories were interwoven around the bubbling food cooking in the frying pan. The characters were delightful as were their stories.
