Historia
On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump incited a violent mob to storm the US Capitol in attempts to overturn the presidential election. It was a betrayal of our Constitution, and one of the darkest days in recent history. Yet to former congressman Adam Kinzinger it was also the culmination of a cultural and political rupture he’d long seen coming. Constructive criticism from within the Republican Party was no longer enough. It was time to stand up, even if it meant betraying his own party.

Encouraging Book by a Great Patriot
Revisado: 11-09-23
Great book by a truly courageous American. A veteran of two wars overseas and the horrible war at home for our democracy, Adam recounts his roles in doing both. He truly sacrificed his seat in Congress in order to tell the truth, substantiated by multitudes of evidence. He is a true profile in courage. Thank you, Adam, for this courage, your faith, and optimism for our country. I pray others will learn from you!

Is it possible to disagree politically and love unconditionally? The reaction of evangelicals to political and cultural shifts in recent years revealed what they value most. Lurking beneath our Bible-laced rhetoric, faith claims, books, and sermons is a relentless drive to WIN! But the church is not here to win. By every human measure, our Savior lost. On purpose. With a purpose. And we are his body. We are not in it to win anything. We are in it for something else entirely. That something else is what this book is about.

Every evangelical Christian should read this book!
Revisado: 09-14-23
Thank you, Andy Stanley, for writing this book! I have listened to it several times, and bought the hard copy and read it as well (and underlined too!). It is my heart- exactly. I want to be a Jesus follower in the truest sense. The way that we Christians have formed a division among ourselves because of politics, is abhorrent. This has happened in my own dear family. And the evangelical right has seemingly rejected most of the “blue” brothers and sisters in Christ. Your book shows the last words of Jesus and his commands to all of his disciples who are members of the body of Christ. I wish more pastors, evangelicals, and Christian nationalists would read your words and heed your wisdom. I will recommend this book to all my evangelical friends and even my very “red” family, if they are open to reading it. Even while pointing out some of the major themes in this book to them, I realize that I need to watch my attitude and desire to prove “I am right” and my tendency to want to win the argument. So this book steps on my toes too!
We need to get back on track as a body of believers and start loving our neighbors as Jesus commanded. Thank you again, for your prayerful and thoughtful words of wisdom in this very enlightening book.
May I truly love God with all my heart, love my neighbor as myself, and put Jesus above all else, ESPECIALLY politics. And May I focus on what and how Jesus did in his earthly ministry and be more like Him!

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Very Good and Eye Opening
Revisado: 09-14-23
Harry does a very good job of telling his story, I believe, with honesty and integrity. It was very eye opening and raw. The only complaint I had was a little bit TMI - his frozen “member”! Lol

Historia
Most of us have times when, if we are honest, we’d admit to feeling like our lives are embarrassingly small and insignificant. Times when it seems like we’re going through a whole lot of pain and striving without much to show for it. Like our daily pursuits don’t really matter in the long run. At times like that, we can’t help wondering if we really matter - to the world or even to God. In Chasing Vines, Beth Moore gives us a new hope, revealing the abundant secrets of a fruitful, Kingdom-building, God-pleasing life.

Fertile Soil For My Soul
Revisado: 02-21-20
I’m crying as I finish “Chasing Vines” by my precious sister in Jesus I’ve never met, Beth Moore. Her description of the metaphor of grapes, vines, vineyards, branches, etc. in the Bible to describe my life and how God wants me to produce much fruit, went straight to the very roots of my soul and spirit. How God places me exactly where he wants me to grow. How He chooses just enough rocks in the soil, just the right material in the soil, even from dead things and even manure that will become fertilizer for me! How He trellises me and lifts me up to receive His light. How He prunes me so that I will bear a bountiful harvest for His Kingdom. This all spoke to my personal ministry and how God can and will use everything in my life to be incredibly fruitful for Him. Nothing is ever wasted. May I use these truths to produce the sweetest wine for my Savior until we drink it together at the greatest feast to come. May He enjoy watching me grow as I am obedient to The Vinedresser, through all seasons of my life. Thank you Beth for sharing your heart, struggles and life in this book. Thank you for your faithfulness to study the scriptures and glean the truths that Jesus wanted you to share. Thank you for feeding His needy sheep. And thank you O precious Lord, for your precious servant, Beth, who has always led me to fall in love with you all over again and go deeper with you into the fertile soil of your love. Ground me in this love and help me produce much fruit for your glory, in Jesus’ Name.

Historia
A New York Times best seller! Brokenness doesn't only find us in the big things - things like illness, hardship, or grief. It can find you in the everyday. Learn to walk in a way that glorifies Jesus and receive freedom, not beyond your fear and pain, but within it. We are fragile and we know it. Sometimes, living with Christ in a messed-up world feels less like victory and more like walking uphill. The Broken Way is simple in presentation, written in Ann’s unique style - a new way for desperate Christians in need of a fresh revelation of the grace of God.

A Life Changing Book You Must Read
Revisado: 03-11-17
I thought Ann's book, "One Thousand Gifts" was life changing - and it certainly was (still is) because it taught me to look for the gifts of God in every little thing and write down my gratitude to God-but "The Broken Way" has taught me how to live broken and given and not be afraid of the broken in others - and especially the broken in me. This is a book I need to read over and over, to remember and practice what Jesus taught and lived: the cruciform life which is brokenness- and out of brokenness comes abundance, compassion, and the miracle of koinonia (read/listen to find out).
I loved the audio version because the narrator was so real and passionate. It sounded like how Ann would have read it. In fact, I forgot at times that it was not her. I may always have that voice as a picture of Ann Voskamp speaking such deep, rich truths that pierced my heart. But I had to get the printed book too because I want to go back and reread and underline those same truths.
Thank you to the narrator for making the book come alive, but mostly thank you Ann Voskamp for being so vulnerable and making your broken places cut into my own broken heart. I feel I have koinonia with you and I haven't even met you. I pray I can someday. On this side or I know on the other. God bless you dear sister in Jesus.
