Historia
Private Detective Cormoran Strike is visiting his family in Cornwall when he is approached by a woman asking for help finding her mother, Margot Bamborough - who went missing in mysterious circumstances in 1974. Strike has never tackled a cold case before, let alone one 40 years old. But despite the slim chance of success, he is intrigued and takes it on; adding to the long list of cases that he and his partner in the agency, Robin Ellacott, are currently working on.

Enthralling every time
Revisado: 09-20-20
The Cormoron Strike series is brimming with colourful characters brought to life by Robert Glenister’s masterful narration. I have gobbled up every installment and am gutted that I’ll have to wait a while before another is delivered.

Simon Vance should steer clear of South African accents
Revisado: 12-05-19
I have enjoyed many of Simon Vance’s narrations of other books but his awful attempt at doing the South African accent, which admittedly is a difficult one to master, and terrible mispronunciations of the names of people and places really ruined this audio book for me. Fortunately the storyline and it’s sub plots is so riveting that I managed to listen to the end. I regret having purchased another Deon Meyer audible book narrated by Mr Vance before listening to this one ... surely an actual South African with a grasp of South African accents would have been a far better choice !!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

So different from my South African Childhood
Revisado: 08-30-19
Having grown up in SA during apartheid as a white person my experience was so different and yet in many ways the same. It was a confusing place to grow up, and hearing Trevor’s side in his humorously serious tone, sheds so much light on how much more confusing and perplexing it must have been like growing up not black or colored, but mixed!
As an already huge fan of Trevor Noah and the The DailyShow, reading about his childhood has given me further insight into what went into building the incredible character that he is. Listening to Trevor himself tell the tale makes it even more insightful and heartfelt.
