I absolutely loved this book! The author did an amazing job of keeping the reader interested and engaged (OK, I'll admit, my eyes glazed over a few times during some of the detailed explanations of blood tests, assays, and the FDA) and the narrator was superb. Highly recommend!

This book could easily have been 1/2 as long and nothing would have been lost in translation. I kept waiting for all the verbiage to MEAN something....and most of the time it never did. It's a long time to listen to a book just to have a "meh" reaction at the end. I purchased this based on a strong recommendation from People Magazine, but I can't understand why.

The reader did a great job with some very mundane, simple material. I kept waiting for a plot, but it never did appear. Entertaining at it's core, but needs more of a story.

The Bad Boy of the 80's has written and produced an incredibly insightful, fascinating account of his transition from a midwestern wanna-be actor to who he is today. And of course who better then to read the story of his life then a talented actor. Plus, he really does give us some dirt and scoop. Loved it!

This book should have been sub-titled "An autobiography of Tony Hsieh." I bought this book expecting to learn alot of valuable lessons from someone who is clearly a brilliant business man. Instead I got hour after hour of his life story (and sometimes in WAY too graphic of detail). The second half of the book is one long commercial about Zappos. There were a few pearls of wisdom to be had, but overall I'd say this book is only for the hard-core Zappos/Tony Hsieh enthusiast.

One of the Best Books I have ever read

whether you are a life long runner like me, or just interested in the fascinating story of the evolution of humans into the most efficient runners in the world, this has to rank among the top 10 books I've ever encountered. Christopher McDougal is incredibly talented at taking a subject that could be considered mundane (running) and making it into a story you just can't "put down." Kudos to both the author and the reader.
