Not my favorite book. The characters were interesting, but the storyline had too many distractions and there was no clear ending - it seemed to have a rather abrupt end. Perhaps ready for a sequel?

The author’s writing style creates a movie in my head. She has a writing talent to bring every character alive, every situation believable and her style of writing keeps you hanging on, enjoying every part of the story she weaves, to the very end of the book. Loved this novel!

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Historia
Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can’t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-19-19
The story was hard to get into and the characters were difficult to like. Only toward the end, did I start to care about what happened to any of the nine perfect strangers. I hated the continual swearing which perhaps was more vivid on the audio book version than it might be in print.

When she becomes queen, all Europe turns against England.

Historia
The Strange Death of Europe is a highly personal account of a continent and culture caught in the act of suicide. Declining birth rates, mass immigration, and cultivated self-distrust and self-hatred have come together to make Europeans unable to argue for themselves and incapable of resisting their own comprehensive alteration as a society and an eventual end.

A word to the wise!
Revisado: 08-23-17
A refreshing alternative to the political propaganda being churned out by our relentless media and the political class. Douglas Murray gives a commendable account of the circumstances leading up to the crisis affecting Europe and Western civilizations as we know it, and the ultimate chaos that these policies will create. Demographic, social engineering by elites who deny the very problems that their policies wreak. I hope that many people get to hear the facts and understand the news that is being hidden or "spun" about the need for mass unchecked immigration. Shame on our leaders!

Historia
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."

Amazing life story! This story evoked so many emotions from me, all the way through. My husband heard me exclaim "No" on so many occasions at parts of the book where I could not believe the parents explanations to their children of the dire straits they forced their family into. Such a rollercoaster of a book!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.
