Historia
A chance encounter in the wilds of the North brings more joy to Elizabeth and Mr Darcy than either of them dared hope for. But her world is rocked by blow after blow - and the truth would only cause him pain. ‘I must be cruel only to be kind’ is Elizabeth’s guiding precept, and she chooses her path. Yet time, circumstances and new acquaintances teach her she had made a terrible mistake. How can she regain what she had lost and rebuild a future with the only man she will ever love, but for whom disguise of every sort is his abhorrence?

Neverending
Revisado: 06-24-23
I felt that this book was unnecessarily long. There was a lot of drama that was unnecessary and a lot of descriptions and details could’ve been left out for the sake of the reader’s sanity. For example, I really did not need a long description of the lilies-of-the-valley that Elizabeth wore for her wedding or the history lesson.

Great story with some unrealistic drama
Revisado: 01-30-23
I really enjoyed the story and getting to know the characters. I love wathcing the characters fall in love against theit own wishes and to see them grow. However, some of the drama was a bit unrealistic. I tefer mostly to the drama surrounding the easy loss of money. It was a bit unrealistic as it would have required that banks and wealth families did not have any measures in place to protect itself. The fact that she was a nabob’s daughter, with no ties to the ton, was enough to cause all the drama that was necessary in a story. The money issues just let me rolling my eyes.

I’m here, standing in front of my one-night stand’s house, working up the courage to ring the doorbell and tell him I’m pregnant. I hate that term—one-night stand. It sounds so cheap and sleazy. Tobias Holiday is neither of those things. He’s handsome and caring. Witty and charismatic. And once, a long time ago, he was mine. Our one-night reunion was only supposed to be a hookup. A fling with an old lover. A parting farewell before I moved to London and put my feelings for him an ocean away. How exactly am I supposed to explain that to Tobias that I’m having his baby?

Historia
How can a human who is set to gain a significant inheritance have anything in common with a foul-mouthed, satanic-looking security specialist? Smoke regularly wafts out of this guy’s nostrils and his shiny barbed tail juts out in the air behind him as he prowls across the military hanger. But…I’m enchanted with Idun’s deep voice, his massive bare chest, and those epic thighs. This Hyrrokin is a handsome red devil and oh so touchable. And I want my tongue in his mouth, immediately. Unfortunately, Idun thinks I’m a spoiled party girl and wants nothing to do with me.

A not so great female narrator
Revisado: 09-28-22
Elyce did okay but it does not hold weight to the previous female narrator’s voice. Nor does it mesh well with Patrick Zeller’s amazing voice.
The story was okay but not as fully developed as previous books in the series. It felt a bit rushed.

Historia
The simple truth is proven that sometimes a gentleman never knows his heart until a lady comes along to introduce it to him. When Mr. Darcy encounters Elizabeth Bennet injured after a fall, his concern for her welfare cracks the shell of his carefully guarded heart, and a charming man emerges. Elizabeth sees an appealing side of him she never believed possible from the stoic, proud master of Pemberley.

Great Chemistry and Humor
Revisado: 03-20-20
I love the dialogue between the charcters. So much wit! I also loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy. This book also had a very refreshing take on the character of Mr Bennett that I can appreciate. Well worth the read!

Historia
War makes strange bedfellows. I, Gaius Domitus, one-eyed rebel dragon king of the Provinces, know that better than most, since I have to fight off half my ungrateful family on a regular basis to keep law and order here in my lands. But I never expected to have to consort with a barbarian human woman. Kachka is beautiful, if you like them fierce - and of course I do. But she keeps complaining about how spoiled and decadent I am and how a feared Daughter of the Steppes has no time for foolish dragons.

Differet pronunciations...again
Revisado: 03-07-20
The narrator really needs to decide how she is going to pronounce the names. Ugh... I simply do not get why the pronunciation of so many of the names have been changed since the last book. It was bad enough when they completely changed the narrator earlier in the series, but this newer narrator is so inconsistent with her own work. Is it so hard to decide how you will pronounce a name and STICK TO IT?
Another book about how females are sooooo much better than men. Sigh. I am only listening to this book to hear more about what happens to the original characters. I absolutely despise the last two female leads and how they treat men. If “female empowerment” means tearing down men, then you’re an idiot! By the way, I am a female. I am confident in my own skin without needing to make men the enemy. What is happening to this world? Why do I feel like I am the only one who is done with this “the future is female” bull crap? News flash! Women and men are the past, present and future! We need each other EQUALLY. I want to read a book without rolling my eyes because they have to put woman on a pedestal.
I would not call this a romance book and hate that it falls under that category. There is nothing romantic about the crude words, hostal relationships and lack of respect for ones chosen partner. I really liked the earlier books in this series but the author has taken things way too far. Very disappointed. I will be returning this book and no longer care how the storyline plays out. I’m too disgusted to finish this book.

Historia
“Mr Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.” It starts with a bit of well-meant advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first. What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister, or that Viscount Saye would overhear and tell his friends, or that his friends might slip a little and let their friends know as well.

Why call it a P&P Variation?
Revisado: 02-02-20
The story has been altered so much from the original, that besides the character names, I really don’t see it as a P&P variation. The characters themeselves have been greatly altered. I hate the Bingley of this story. Lizzie is also unlikable. Jane is flirtatious? What? This Darcy is also a bit thick. Catherine deBurge was always pompous, but she would not have put aside everything she stood for in order to get revenge.

I Will Never Get Back Those 10 Hours
Revisado: 02-02-20
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mine:
I really want to like this book. I read the first book in the series and had so much hope for this story. However, it was probably one of the most depressing romances that I’ve read in a very long time. Every couple of chapters I would have to force myself to continue reading. Understand, I read romance books because I want to be uplifted. I like sighing at the end and feeling as if the world is made right again. That may seem cheesy, but when you live in a world where there’s already enough violence and chaos and other negative things that bring you down, you want to be able to get lost in a book.
However, when you toss the characters through a series of horrible events and hopeless circumstances, the romance is often lost. You don’t care if they get together in the end because you just want the torment to be over. POSSIBLE SPOILER: The shock and awe of physical abuse, emotional abuse or identity degradation is not necessary in a romance book. It is also not necessary for almost every man in the book to be portrayed as worthless or greatly flawed while every woman has to be the strong, independent sort.
If you are a fan of soap operas or get a kick out if watching other people’s misery on the evening news... If circumstances in which the characters are unable to stay happy for more than 45 minutes, or stories in which most man have few redeeming characteristic, then this is the book for you!
On a side note, I do think that the narrator did an amazing job.

Elizabeth Bennet can't imagine anything worse than being stranded by a blizzard in a tiny cottage with proud and unpleasant Mr. Darcy. But being trapped there for days - and nights - with an injured and confused Mr. Darcy who keeps saying the oddest things about her is even worse. At least he possesses the useful ability of lighting a fire to keep them from freezing to death. But when he puts his arms around her, she discovers the hearth isn't the only place he knows how to build a fire.

Wow!
Revisado: 04-19-19
I was hesitant to read this book as I have become weary of the last few P and P variations that I have read that have taken these beloved characters on a wild goose chase of unrealistic events. However, I am very pleased with Reynolds tale. I really like the new side characters and especially how she portrayed Anne. I look forward to reading more by this author.
