I could not connect with this one. The narrator was mediocre, and lulled me to sleep a couple times. The characters were immature and not anyone who I could relate to. I'd like my credit back on this one.

I loved her first book, and was super excited to buy this one. This one is just ok. I really disliked Haileys character, she was whiney and just uggg. No amount of "growth" could make the first 6 hours palatable. The other issue was how slowwww the plot unwound. Dropping hints and not revealing the full back story for 6+ hours was just unnecessary angst, and dragged in the middle of the book.
I only finished reading because Quinn Riley is a wonderful narrator. I'll think twice before buying her next book.

Old book

This is a old book, one I read years ago. I REALLY REALLY wish there would be original publishing dates, I kinda feel dupped into buying a "new" book, when in fact it's old.
The story itself was sad, sad sad. Set in the late 90's it tells a story of someone coming out and one who is forced to stay so deep in the closet. Both MCs have major issues, and are struggling to find happiness.
I lived through the 90s and was out and proud, and had a family who loved me unconditionally, so relating to either of the characters was hard. Thank goodness things have changed in the last 20 years.
As usual Angela Dawe was EXCELLENT!

I struggled to finish this one. Dani is the least likeable character ever, whiney and just uggg.
I only finished it because Abby Craden was the narrator. Probably won't purchase more from this author.

I really liked this one. Great characters, excellent storyline and hella good narration. (only negative was it was a little angsty)

So much goodness in this book. Fabulous characters, laugh out loud funny and so so different from Lee's other books. I want to join that book club and try all the muffins! Just buy it already!
The narration was SUBLIME!

TRIGGER WARNING

This one sould come with a BIG WARNING. I haven't finished, 2.5 hours left. As much as I love Adrian's books, as I've bought all of them, this one has left me hurting inside. I unfortunately relate to Athena, and have some of the same scars, both physical and mentally. I avoid books that focus on rape and beating of women. This one delves on what happens after the rape. The emotional baggage and healing or lack there of. To much heavy and not enough light, although there was healing throughout the book for both MCs.
Do I recommend this one? Yes to those of you who want a well written book with a lot of emotions. Those who have scars that deal with abuse be aware.
Narration was excellent!!!!

This is the first book I didn't really enjoy. It was 14 hours of nothing exciting. One murder scene, we knew who the murderer was in the first half of the book. Then it was just dialog of stuff. I actually fell asleep for over an hour and didn't miss anything. I would not recommend.

This is the first Georgia Beers book I struggled to finish. It just dragged on, with no real direction. No action, and no witty dialogue no chemistry.
Lulu Larkin also fell flat, voices running together, she made a not so exciting book boring.
