Historia
Why are modern Christians so indistinguishable from everyone else? How come Christians who lived in times of bloody persecution were so heroic, while we who live in safety are not? How could the first Christians fast valiantly, but we feel deprived without dessert? How did New Testament believers pray without ceasing? How could the early Christian martyrs actually forgive their torturers? What did the Christians of the first centuries know that we don't? This book explores these questions.

Introduction to Orthodox-Catholic Christian Life
Revisado: 06-28-22
This is the best introduction to the way of life of classic Christianity I know, and is very accessible. I'll be recommending it to many. Don't hesitate to buy this if you or a loved one is wondering what's missing in their Christian walk.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Good Story, one good and one bad narrator
Revisado: 08-30-20
Although the story took a while to develop, it came together very well.
But the female narrator was so bad (easily the worst I've heard on Audible so far) that it made me actively dislike every character she narrated. Her voice is almost robotic, and it's cringeworthy whenever she tries to do a male character's voice.
Also, the philosophical and theological arguments highlighted in the series were not well thought out...Sanderson probably should have consulted some philosophers to make them sound at least a little more plausible, coming from the mouths of his scholarly characters.
Still worth listening to!

Historia
It is the late 15th century and a village healer in Russia called Laurus is powerless to help his beloved as she dies in childbirth, unwed and without having received communion. Devastated and desperate, he sets out on a journey in search of redemption. But this is no ordinary journey: it is one that spans ages and countries, and which brings him face-to-face with a host of unforgettable, eccentric characters and legendary creatures from the strangest medieval bestiaries.

Surely a Classic

A fantastic book. So grateful to the author who clearly did his homework in every sense. Read it and weep.
