Historia
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

A Solid Collaboration
Revisado: 04-26-25
Riley combined her perspective with her mother's memoirs. I listened to the whole audio book straight through. Lisa Marie was very honest and forth coming about her mischievous antics as a child and challenges throughout adulthood. Although it touched on her roll managing her father's estate, I would have been interested in learning more of her involvement. Overall, it was a touching account of her personal life.

Brain Wheaton does a great job narrating his own book. Although it is over 10 hours, it is neither dry nor strung out. Brain actually breezes through many wine related topics - giving a novice a well-informed overview. He includes many anodotes thought his career in the wine industry and adds his sense of humor to the stories. I recommend this audio book to all fellow wine lovers.

A lovely story of finding closure after the death of a love one. Although I have never experienced communicating with the deceased to the extent that Annie Kagan has, I dispelled my skepticism and enjoyed this book.

A touching story of young love
Revisado: 05-07-21
It was a bittersweet love story from the memories of June. It had me choked up and teary-eyed to see true love drift apart as June realizes a future with Elvis is not meant to be. It would be interesting to have had Elvis's perspective as well. A great book. highly recommended.

Historia
When Singer sewing machine tycoon Edward Clark built a luxury apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in the late 1800s, it was derisively dubbed “the Dakota” for being as far from the center of the downtown action as its namesake territory on the nation’s western frontier. Despite its remote location, the quirky German Renaissance-style castle, with its intricate façade, peculiar interior design, and gargoyle guardians peering down on Central Park, was an immediate hit, particularly among the city’s well-heeled intellectuals and artists.

Interesting Stories
Revisado: 07-13-19
The stories of the Dakota, its neighbor hood, and it's residents was very interesting to listen too. I love being more knowledgeable about the history of this NYC icon. It was also narrated well. Since it was copy righted in 1979, it would be nice to hear a sequel to catch up on its happenings in the past 40 years.

Educational, Informative and Entertaining
Revisado: 09-20-18
The many stories of Dr. Melinek's experiences was educational, informative and entertaining. Since my son decided to pursue a career in forensics, this book was a great way for me to be introduced to learn more about his interest. I remembered several of the cases she worked on from news alerts. I did have one issue with the authors not following-up to conclude the outcome of a few cases. Overall, I loved the book and I will be purchasing a copy for my son.

Historia
On May 1, 1915, with WWI entering its tenth month, a luxury ocean liner as richly appointed as an English country house sailed out of New York, bound for Liverpool, carrying a record number of children and infants. The passengers were surprisingly at ease, even though Germany had declared the seas around Britain to be a war zone. For months, German U-boats had brought terror to the North Atlantic.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

A Masterfuly Written Story
Revisado: 08-20-18
I love history, architecture, landscape art, and non-fiction thrillers. The era of the late 1800 provide a great combination of these genres. I was already aware of the key subjects from other famous landmarks, such as the Biltmore, but this story brought them together and told it as interesting an Agatha Christie may have done so.

I feelt so naive
Revisado: 08-09-18
I've heard of that there was a club called Studio 54 that was popular in New York, but I did not know that much more about it. Talk about sex, drugs, rock and roll/disco, this place at all. Mark did not hold back in his life story, from the beginning middle, and end. The narrator was to slow that I had to speed it up. He could of had me hanging onto every word, but he read without excitement. The stories are more enjoyable for me when read by the author.
