Historia
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Conflicted feelings about the book!
Revisado: 02-11-23
This book was … dense, complicated, depressing, hopeful.
Dense: there were times when I thought, when will this end?
Complicated: the characters keep being stubborn and making stupid choices and it’s so frustrating… but I guess that’s like life too!
Depressing: I felt that there were times this book was trying too hard to be gritty and realistic. Like so many characters(I’ll grant you side characters) die unnatural, untimely deaths. And so many gross and bad things happen. Maybe I just live too privileged a life to related but it felt like the author was trying to hard to be edgy.
Hopeful: at the end, and in reflection the book is hopeful. We are not video game characters but we still have many chances to change our paths and begin again. Friendships can be rekindled, love can be found again, and persistence is what makes us human.
You do not have to be into video games to love this book. My complete lack of video game experience did not have an effect on my enjoyment of this book.

Story was not as good as the other books, I found it harder to get into and a little harder to follow.
Overall, still entertaining!

Cheesy but wasn’t that what we’re here for?
Revisado: 11-02-22
Of course it’s cheesy! You can tell by the title and the cover and the genre. But it was exactly what I wanted. Cheesy, funny, relatable and smutty. Of course a little cringey and a little predictable. But that’s what we’re here for.

Historia
Like millions of her millennial peers, Rachel Held Evans didn't want to go to church anymore. The hypocrisy, the politics, the gargantuan building budgets, the scandals - church culture seemed so far removed from Jesus. Yet despite her cynicism and misgivings, something kept drawing her back. And so she set out on a journey to understand the Church and to find her place in it.

Not for all
Revisado: 07-16-22
If you are looking to be converted, this isn’t for you. If you are looking for a “Christian World View” this also isn’t it.
This is a Narrative of one woman that struggles with her faith. This is a narrative shared by many millennials that were raised in church but don’t know what now. I found it hopeful, but not because she wrote it to be an inspiration. I found it hopeful to find someone that shares my struggles. I am a Baptist Pastor’s kid that has questions. I fight to stay with my faith but I’ve become more liberal and sometimes I wonder if I should give up the fight.
Rachel has reminded me being Christian is like Love. You make a choice to stay. It’s normal to have doubts. That’s a reminder that you’re trying.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Best read in a while
Revisado: 07-28-21
Do you like a feel good story?
Do you like the movie “about time”?
This is the book for you! Feels realistic and doesn’t have the overly sappy and fake quality of some feel good books. Makes you contemplate life and gives you HOPE. I think we all need to recenter with hope.
