Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

The words and narrator caught me from the first 2 sentences. I read numerous books hoping to find treasures such as this.

ugh this narrator...
Revisado: 07-14-18
The story, as always, is wonderful. there are so many moments that the narrator assigns such annoying voices to the characters that I have to press myself to continue listening. am I the only one?

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Excellent storyline. Narrator not so much.

Although the narrator is talented with emotive speaking, her pitch and tone made me want to stop the book.

Glad I stuck with it!
Revisado: 03-31-18
I loved this book, although its unlike others in my library of favorites. I had difficulty becoming attracted to it. Like the guy that's not quite good looking enough to quickly sweep you off your feet, but a year into dating you wonder how you could have ever doubted yourself.
