Historia
October 8, 1918: Amid the last of the Allies' attempts to defeat the Germans, Sgt. Alvin York of Tennessee found himself and his platoon of only 17 men trapped in the thick of heavy machine gun fire. Rather than retreating or calling upon the artillery to take out the nest, York single-handedly took out 25 Germans, dropping them one by one, and captured many more. This is one of the many tales of York's famed heroism, which were heralded as some of the most impressive battle stories in the history of modern warfare. Sergeant York contains the legendary soldier's war diaries.

Great True Story
Revisado: 01-10-24
I love history and especially when it is an incredible story of how God used an ordinary person for extraordinary things. That’s exactly what this story is about.

Historia
From the internationally bestselling author of No god but God comes a fascinating, provocative, and meticulously researched biography that challenges long-held assumptions about the man we know as Jesus of Nazareth. Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Reza Aslan sheds new light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived: first-century Palestine, an age awash in apocalyptic fervor.

Extremely biased
Revisado: 11-04-19
This book is biased against Christianity. Much of what he states as “fact” is opinion. You might not gather his slant against Christianity in the writing itself but listening to him read brings out tone and inflections that’s confirm his disdain for biblical Christianity. The book was informative and did bring out some interesting perspectives but the accuracy of the historical narratives is in serious question.
