Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Devil in the details
Revisado: 11-13-22
This is my third attempt at enjoying stephen king, he is a masterful story teller in his own way. I love the details that he will sew into a story, everything feels like you are there you can practically taste the air in the story and you truly do develop an emotional reaction to the characters throughout. The story is a good one all though a bit plain cause you can see the plot if not the finale from a fair distance away. That being said my biggest issue with the story is the length, what i feel like could have been shortened by 10 hrs was longer that necessary and left me feeling, unsatisfied at the end of my experience. Even with my play speed at 3X i felt like i was being drug through a long hike for a story that would have been more enjoyable as a trip around the park.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Feeling brilliant and witty.
Revisado: 12-29-21
I got into Andy Weir in The Martian, I loved the way the book was written and how each problem had a logical solution that the average person could follow. I am very pleased to say that this story followed the same path and reached a simliar goal. With an out of this world problem Andy took the time with us to travel down a step by step path to reaching a solution that both made me feel like it was plausible and never felt like i was left out in the cold of my own ignorance when it came to the science behind the story. I have relistened to this book at least 5 times in the last 4 months and would absolutely lend this to a friend!

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

So long so winded
Revisado: 12-29-21
I entered this book hoping to get into stephen king's universe with more excitement and able to jump into more novels. I found the story at best long and winded. My mind was painted with a very vivid world and it was beautifully fleshed out, but i never got hooked. I felt like i could walk away from the book at any time and come away with an appreciation for a detailed universe that King is able to put together but never a sense that i missed out on a life lesson or a story i will gab about to a friend later. I would honestly say that this is a forgettable book and story and would not dedicate more time than necessary to this book. Would not repeat this experience but it would hold a spot in my library simple cause i appreciate the dedication to the craft not the beauty in the story.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

By far one of my favorite series. The main characters are funny and endearing and you feel yourself in the cockpit.

Scott Adams has likely failed at more things than anyone you’ve ever met or anyone you’ve even heard of. So how did he go from hapless office worker and serial failure to the creator of Dilbert, one of the world’s most famous syndicated comic strips, in just a few years? In How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Adams shares the strategy he has used since he was a teen to invite failure in, to embrace it, then pick its pocket.

insightful and fun to listen too. gonna do my own expert in a year challenge! I wish they would have focused a bit more on the walls that he hit and maybe a bit more outside the box thinking since I'm sure many people are gonna use the same principal in other skill sets. all together a good book and no regret in the buy.
