Historia
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.

Proof of Heaven was very enjoyable listening to all the details Dr. Alexander was able to describe.
What did you like best about this story?
This is an amazing journey that makes the listener want more. I was sorry when it ended. I plan on listening to this audible book many more times. Dr. Alexander's journey opens up many areas I don't think I would have thought about until I heard this wonderful book.
Thank you Dr. Alexander!!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Unbroken is absolutely Unbelievable !
Revisado: 02-04-13
What did you love best about Unbroken?
The strength and fortitude that Mr. Zamperini showed throughout WWII despite all the horrible and in humane acts of violence that were directed towards him and the other prisoners was unbelievable.
Have you listened to any of Edward Herrmann’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am familiar with Mr. Herrmann's work as an actor which is alway very riveting. This is the first audible book of his that I've listened to which I thought was excellent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Mr. Zamperini went to the Billy Graham revival and he remembered his promise to God if he survived when he was stranded in the middle of the ocean with no food, no water and sharks waiting for him.
Any additional comments?
I have already recommended this book to several people. It is one of the most enjoyable audible books I have listened to. It is amazing to think that Louis Zamperini is still living and enjoying life. His experiences throughout the war were much more horrendous than I would have ever thought. My thanks to the author, Laura Hillenbrand, for writing this wonderful story. She made it come to life and was very hard to put down.

Historia
For four years, from the election of John Fitzgerald Kennedy until after the election of Lyndon Johnson, Clint Hill was the Secret Service agent assigned to guard the glamorous and private Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. During those four years, he went from being a reluctant guardian to a fiercely loyal watchdog and friend. Looking back, Clint Hill tells his story for the first time, offering a tender and tragic portrayal of how a Secret Service agent who started life in an orphanage became the most trusted man in the life of the First Lady who captivated first the nation and then the world.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I recommend Mrs. Kennedy & Me to anyone wanting to see the other side of politics. As a Baby Boomer growing up in the 50s-60s....I relived my experiences through the eyes and ears of Clint Hill. This is one of the best audiobooks I have listened to. It was also very hard to put down. The narrator was PERFECT. I have had the distinct honor of meeting Clint Hill....what a wonderful down to earth person. Mr. Hill had quite an insight into the lives of the rich and powerful but it did not tarnish him. You can hear and feel his pain as well as the joy in his writing. Thank you Mr. Hill for letting everyone share your experiences with you.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clint Hill is my favorite character due to his honesty and vulnerability.
Which scene was your favorite?
Besides the section on Dallas and the funeral (I cried through these chapters), I would say I loved the trip to Greece after Patrick died. Mrs. Kennedy seemed to so enjoy the trip and was able to really relax and this was all due to the efforts of Mr. Hill.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The First Lady and the Agent.
Any additional comments?
Narrator Jeremy Bobb was excellent in his presentation of this wonderful book. Thank you for publishing it.
