I am loving this series
Revisado: 08-25-24
for me, this has the right amount of historical relevance and magic. I love how this book highlights the connection to the deities that people had living in these times and seerahip.
The storyline is great and the narration is really, really good.
Each book has been a strong presentation of the humanity of the characters, woven with historical facts, struggle and romance.

A fun read, but
Revisado: 05-29-24
I enjoyed book 2 and will be continuing the series, BUT I have to say that Rosemary's immature antics began to grate in me. There is only so much you can take of an almost 40 year old who acts Luke a petulant child!
The writing isn't great in this, but the story is entertaining.

I loved these traditional stories. Aome end as a "you decide what happened" and I liked that. There are fun colloquialisms and the reader is great.

Tragic and difficult at times...
Revisado: 08-04-22
So much painful patriarchy.
At times it was difficult to continue with the story. There are glimpses of the beauty of the Goddess and preistesshood in this tale, but they are few and far between.
I've been desperate for more priestess novels so I caved a distended, but...

A quick and mesmerizing tale!
Revisado: 03-22-22
This is a great little story. While I don't really love first person stories, this was good. Actually, the first person led to the suspense.
The author does a skillful job of weaving potentially triggering elements of witch persecution with delicacy.
I'll be looking for other reads by her!

Historia
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.
