Historia
James was a vegetarian, wore only linen clothing, bathed daily at dawn in cold water, and was a life-long Nazirite. In this profound and provocative work of scholarly detection, eminent biblical scholar Robert Eisenman introduces a startling theory about the identity of James - the brother of Jesus - who was almost entirely marginalized in the New Testament.

A must for theological research & biblical insight
Revisado: 06-17-21
Perhaps as educational and insightful as there could be in regards to James and his importance to Christianity as it rationally discusses why and how this biblical correction should be understood. Although this is a long, it gives validation to the efforts of their digging out the truth from frequently and sometimes obvious intentional altering of the New Testament.

Amazingly great work by Manly P. Hall
Revisado: 05-27-21
1st of all, I redownload this book thinking the reading was a technical glitch. Sadly, it's not, and that will have you questioning what you just heard and have to back up and wonder how much if the text did you just miss, or hear the reader modify the last few words.
Aside from the performance, this is an absolute Gnostic gem and philosophical review of both history and religion. Even if you do not seek Gnosis, this complete review of nearly every religion and it's basis is one that should be referenced time and time again as it summarizes many principal teachings in good measure.

Historia
The success of books such as Elaine Pagels's Gnostic Gospels and Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code proves beyond a doubt that there is a tremendous thirst today for finding the hidden truths of Christianity - truths that may have been lost or buried by institutional religion over the last two millennia. In Forbidden Faith, Richard Smoley narrates a popular history of one such truth, the ancient esoteric religion of gnosticism, which flourished between the first and fourth centuries AD, but whose legacy remains even today, having survived secretly throughout the ages.

Historia
Jesus was a man of few words, simple words, and a deeply challenging message. However, through the years his words and message have been clouded with additions and retractions. How can we possibly know the words he spoke? What were his original teachings? Where did his message stop and the many changes begin? Hidden in the gospels themselves are the source materials containing the original message preached by Jesus. Before the gospels were written, there were proto-gospels, notes, lists, and collections of sayings used to construct the gospels we have today.

Went through first time to just listen, 2nd and each new reading only helps to pinpoint specific thoughts pulled to create the new testament from what were deemed heretical writings, turns out most of the new testament is based off of these sayings.

These words are the very truth of Jesus
Revisado: 02-16-20
The Gnostic Scripture/gospels have held a very subtle unobserved truth that is so hard to pick from the texts. I would recommend that if you are looking for what Jesus is saying, then also look at the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. Here in the Gospel of Thomas as well as in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, when people ask, " What did Jesus tell you / Tell us what Jesus tells you that he does not tell us" the hint is that it either causes a fear of retaliation from others, or as in Gosp. of M.M. Peter reacts with an angry outburst towards Mary and calls her a liar. Her response through tears is so human, so emotionally wrought with conviction to defend her conversation with Jesus and also to express something that Jesus confided in her. Here is what you will need to uncover for yourself. What secret did Jesus hide and only confide to a small few but was able to preach the truth of it so cleverly that its value is just beyond the grasp of perception unless you have ears to hear? I know what all of this truly means. The answer does correlate to ancient Egyptian and Buddhist teachings. The tricky part is to wake up, and to understand how to do so is probably what the initiation that was used to have Jesus' disciples go through to gain that insight. You can read all of the Gnostic texts and miss the elements that are the very core as to why the Council of Nicea cherry-picked from these gospels for the New Testament, and then declared them heretical and for any trace of them to be purged. Good luck in your discovery as it will ruin then change your life for the better and hopefully you too can discover the kingdom of Christ/God within.

Historia
Drawing on modern scholarship, the authors of the international best-seller The Jesus Mysteries decode the secret teachings of the original Christians for the first time in almost two millennia and theorize about who the original Christians really were and what they actually taught. In addition, the book explores the many myths of Jesus and the Goddess and unlocks the lost secret teachings of Christian mysticism, which promise happiness and immortality to those who attain the state of Gnosis, or enlightenment.

The insight into the Gnostic religion and its understanding are amazing and much needed in the greater understanding of religion, how it has been molded and manipulated by both ego, and the needs of others to have a religious power by limiting knowledge of other beliefs that may give a credible basis for being an authentic and true truth towards the finding of God. The assumption that Jesus was imaginary (by the authors) has since been disproven with the Jesus family tomb discovery in 2010. But,the similarities between Jesus, Moses and as demonstrated in the writing, there may have been intentional reworkings of what we understand to be "scripture" as nothing more than an ego-driven monk using a prophets name from the past to write his own interpretations of scripture that was bought into by "the church", or others with the same intention. Control of the ego as described and insight into the truths of spirits, possession, and psychic insight into the truths or 'knowing" can add clarity to those who have succeeded in finding your path to this point, or found out in the long run, that this is the truth of it all as you looked to find an answer as to why. It appears to this reader that the Gnostic faith is based upon a deeper sense of our place in the universe and God's perception through us and our power to rise if we understand the mind and consciousness and the power it can play in our lives vs. ignorance and being used by dark minds for which we are typically ignorant of. As this reader has personally discovered, God can work through us, this is what the Gnostic teaching is showing, and I feel that Jesus was preaching as well, as demonstrated in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and the Gospel of Thomas. Make your psyche in God's image, but know the psychology of and the psychic of the mind as well to better control your life and to cleanse your mind of being used. which is part of the aspect of the Gnostic "knowing" as to know the truth of what is happening to the mind and to those who don't know or aren't in the knowing.
