Historia
The exciting narrative begins in 1822, when Jedediah Smith ascended the Missouri River in the first fur-trading expedition of William H. Ashley and Andrew Henry, and ends in 1831, when he was killed by Comanche Indians on the Cimarron River.

The first of Neihardt's American epic poem - SPLENDID
Revisado: 11-22-23
The first "song" in the "Cycle of the West" which, in my mind, is the Illiad & the Odyssey of the the American West. Written magnificently in meter and rhyme the first if 5 songs in this American epic poem. It is a true beauty to read and appreciate the artistry of the author. The stories of all 5 are captivating and thrilling. I wish it were required reading of all students.
